Riding for the Disabled Association We rely solely on voluntary help, fundraising and donations to deliver our services.

Established in 1968, Stratford upon Avon RDA is one of over 500 groups attached to the Riding for the Disabled Association but operates as a separate registered charity. The group is based at The Stable yard, Home Farm, Compton Verney CV35 9HJ where sessions are currently being offered on Monday morning and Tuesday afternoons. We rely on volunteers to support the day to day running and fundraising activities of the group and more details can be found on our website. We provide support to either adults or children so if you have a disability whatever it might be then RDA could offer you an opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy yourself as well as enjoying the therapeutic benefits that horse riding can offer.

Last week we had the pleasure of visiting RDA Stratford-Upon-Avon to donate them 9 new helmets.

We had a lovely time visiting the centre and finding out how they help so many people to experience the joy that horses bring. The participants were thrilled to receive a mixture of our Orion and Callisto helmets, and are especially excited about the crystal finishes!

We are donating 250 helmets to RDA centres across the UK, so please do get in touch if you know of a centre that would benefit ❤

Stratford upon Avon RDA wishes to offer its sincere congratulations to Mark Petterson, who has recently been ennobled by King Charles and will take his seat as a Liberal Democrat in the House of Lords on 22nd October 2026.
Lord Petterson, who co-founded Warwick Energy Limited in 2000, has been a long-standing supporter of our Group. We would like to thank Lord and Lady Petterson for their financial support over the past years. This has allowed the Group to invest in equipment such as our mounting lift, which has played a big part in our expansion and activities.

Yesterday we were visited by Anna, representing Evoke Hats, with a hugely generous donation of several riding hats.
These high spec hats, have interchangeable liners, to ensure best possible comfort & fit for our participants. The sparkly designs are already a hit with our riders!

Thank you to the amazing hardworking team from NFU, Clare, Reuben, Dean, Kian, Tracey, Anne, Sara, Katy, Helena and Steve, who came yesterday and transformed and treated our classroom decking and outdoor furniture, deep cleaned and painted another bank of stables and got rid of those pesky weeds around the stable block. We are so very grateful for your help and support again for another year. The weather was perfect for a picnic lunch in the sunshine and the yard is continuing to get its makeover.

Pony days are happy days each with their own vibe & energy, but all full of fun, friendship and learning.
Extended hacks around the farm tracks, learning how to care for your pony & sharing lunch in Des & Rosemary’s lovely garden, were just some of the activities enjoyed by riders, carers, families & helpers.
A total of 18 participants took part in our various pony days this summer. The opportunity to spend time with their ponies developing a positive partnership, is very special for many of our riders.
A huge thank you to our coaches and volunteers for their commitment and support to make these days such a success. It couldn’t happen without them.

SRDA volunteers have just attended First Aid at Work course for Horse Riders organised for our Group. Jo Maidment our trainer gave a well run day with lots of practical hands on opportunities including cpr and defibrillator training. A really useful course with lots of useful tips. Thank you Jo and Medi-K Training Courses UK. Would highly recommend.

Many congratulations to Daphne and Jolene, flying the flag for Stratford RDA & competing amongst the best at the British Dressage Para Summer Championships held at Hartpury College. Great result again. Well done ‘Team Powell’!

Congratulations to our 'Own horse participant', Daphne, who rode so well at her first ever RDA National Championships on her pony Jolene. She came 4th in her Dressage class and 2nd in the Showjumping Level 2 and also qualified for the British Dressage Para Championships being held in August. Well done 'Team Powell' and thank you for being a great ambassador for our Group.
