It was informative to see the school and nursery plans at the Town Councils review afternoon event.
The spine road into the central area, and school we were informed, is due to be started on, this September 2026. The spine road will also encompass all of the services required. Drainage, power, communications, etc. So it's not just a road to be built.
Work on the school should commence in 2027 with completion probably early 2028.
As with all of these types of projects exact dates cannot be predicted.
The residents association will be monitoring progress, as well as pursuing the earliest completion possible.
We will keep you abreast of the ongoing project.

Following the reports of Swans being attacked.

We know that we are very lucky to have a pair of swans on our lakes and that they are nesting.
It is very disturbing to hear that it has been seen that youngsters are throwing stones at them.
Swans, their eggs, and their nests are protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. It is a criminal offence to:
intentionally kill, injure, or take a swan
damage or destroy a swan’s nest while it is in use or being built. Likewise to take or destroy swan eggs. Fines or even imprisonment can be applied to perpetrators.
We have a great community here so please if you see any disturbance to these swans please contact the police on 101. Or 999 if really in danger.
These intial attacks have been reported and are being investigated.
Please if you have children explain the need to protect, not just these Swans but all of nature.

Breaching these protections can result in heavy fines or even imprisonment.

Animal deaths on the B4100, Banbury Road.
We have noted a number of Facebook posts with regards to this issue. As a Residents association, we have been taking up this issue for a while now.
We are asking for at least signage, warning animals crossing, to be errected at, both ends of our Town, as well as in Gaydon and Lighthorne areas of the road.
The current deaths will become worst if/when, the Deely build goes ahead. The security fence to this new proposed industrial estate will seal of another section of Gaydon Coppice. This will leave the roadside of the coppice as a potential access and exit for animals. We know that animal deaths on the B4100 in our area has seen significantly more incidents, recently.
We are on the case. It's a shame that ALL motorists do not take note of the speed limits and potential dangers when passing these natural forest areas. Slowing down and being aware of potential crossing of animals, this alone can reduce what we are experiencing at present.
We will keep you informed as to how we get on.

Police surgery at Lighthorne Heath Village Hall, Wednesday, 1st April, 6pm to 7pm.
Come and have a chat with any concerns you may have and perhaps, enjoy a Cuppa with a Copper. Be good to see you their, supporting, as well as questioning, our local police.

Once again vandalism strikes.
The bridge at Lakeside has once more had paint sprayed on it.
The lifebuoy inside the coppice has disappeared.
The bridge was only recently cleaned at a cost of hundreds of pounds. In the long run we will all end up paying for this.
More disturbing is the removal of the lifebuoy. This is lifesaving equipment and could be a factor in someone's life or death
If any one has any information on these incidents please let us know. Likewise a word with the kids to remind them of the dangers and how we all have responsibility to protect each other as well as looking after our environment.
