🎃🌾 IT’S HERE! THE ULRA SCARECROW TRAIL IS NOW OPEN! 🌾🎃

The wait is over! Our fantastic scarecrow hosts have been busy creating their masterpieces, and now it’s your turn to get out, explore Upper Lighthorne and join the fun! 🕵️‍♀️🍂

Our interactive trail map brings everything together in one place, including the scarecrow locations, favourite scarecrow voting and the hidden-word submission form.

🔎 Your trail challenge:
1️⃣ Open the interactive map and choose your route around the trail.
2️⃣ Visit the scarecrows and scan the QR codes displayed at each location.
3️⃣ Read about each scarecrow and collect its hidden letter.
4️⃣ Put the letters together to discover the secret word.
5️⃣ Submit the correct word using the form on the trail website for entry into the prize draw.
6️⃣ Don’t forget to vote for your favourite scarecrow, too! 🏆

The prize-giving will celebrate our trail participants and announce the winner of the favourite scarecrow vote.

All children must be supervised by a responsible adult. Be careful when crossing road and use crossings where available.

Please remember that this is a community trail around residential areas, so normal road and pedestrian safety rules always apply.

🎃 The ULRA Scarecrow Trail is almost ready! 🌾

We’re putting the finishing touches to the technical side of things, with nearly all the behind-the-scenes work now complete! Meanwhile, our fantastic scarecrow hosts are busy finishing their masterpieces, and we can’t wait for you to see them on display around Upper Lighthorne. 👀

📅 A small change to the start date

Due to illness and the forecast for Storm Austen, we’ve taken the decision to delay the start by just one day.

🌾 NEW OPENING DAY: SUNDAY 25 OCTOBER! 🌾

🎉 Get the family together, head out into Upper Lighthorne and join the hunt! Explore the trail, scan the QR codes, discover the hidden letters and see if you can solve the mystery word. You can also vote for your favourite scarecrow — and you don’t need to be a scarecrow host to take part!

🚨🌾 LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER YOUR SCARECROW! 🎃

There’s still time to get involved in Upper Lighthorne’s first-ever Scarecrow Trail — but the clock is ticking! ⏰

🗓️ Registration closes at 9pm this Sunday, 18 October.

Whether you’re planning a traditional scarecrow, a favourite character or something completely out of the ordinary, we’d love you to join in!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Have fun creating together, get to know your neighbours and help bring our growing community to life.

The excitement is building across Upper Lighthorne, and we’re really pleased to see the number of scarecrow entries growing! 🧡

It’s fantastic to see the interest and community spirit already behind our very first ULRA Scarecrow Trail 2026. Whether you’re planning something spooky, silly, traditional or completely bonkers, there’s still time to get involved!

🗓️ REGISTRATION CLOSES SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER

🌾 NEED STRAW? NO PROBLEM!

Don’t let a lack of straw stop you! If you’re planning to enter but need some straw to bring your creation to life, contact ULRA directly and we’ll help you out. There’s no need to miss out.

🏆 AND THERE’S MORE… PRIZES ARE BEING CONFIRMED!

We’re delighted to confirm that our prize-giving will take place at:

The trail itself runs from Saturday 24 to Friday 30 October, giving residents and visitors the chance to explore Upper Lighthorne, discover the scarecrows, scan their QR codes, solve our hidden-word puzzle and vote for their favourite!

🎨 No set theme. Free to enter. One scarecrow per household.

You don’t have to be an expert, and your scarecrow doesn’t have to be perfect. It’s about having fun, getting creative and bringing our community together.
