📸 A little trip down memory lane…

Before there was CGS Rugby, there was a proud CAI rugby tradition stretching back generations. The players may have changed, but the friendships, memories and passion for the game remain the same.

We’ve been digging through the archives and came across these team photos. Now it’s over to you…

Generations of pupils have come and gone, but Cecil has been a constant throughout. After 49 years of dedicated service, his knowledge, care, and pride in the school are second to none. Thank you for everything you do for CGS Rugby and the entire school community, Cecil . A true legend. 👏🏉

A massive happy work anniversary to our wonderful groundsman, Cecil.

Looking after our school site and keeping everyone safe for nearly half a century is an unbelievable achievement. We are spoiling him with some well-earned celebratory treats today to say a huge thank you! 🍩🎈

🏉 CGS Rugby Camp – Registration Reminder

A reminder that registrations for this year’s CGS Rugby Camp need to be completed by 7th June to secure the official camp t-shirt.

The camps have been a brilliant success in recent years, helping drive standards, build confidence and bringing the boys together in a great rugby environment.

A huge thank you to everyone who turned up last night to help clean down and touch up the High Performance Centre.

It was another great example of the CGS rugby community getting stuck in and helping push the project forward.

The HPC is being built for the benefit of our players, and support like this makes a real difference.

Thank you again to everyone who gave up their time. It is very much appreciated.

The boys only went and did it! Massive congrats to U14 team members John, Donovan, Tobias & Tei on being ALL IRELAND 4x100M CHAMPIONS!!!

Last week our Year 9s swapped the gym and rugby pitch for the mats at Triangle Judo — and the boys absolutely loved it.

The session gave them a chance to learn new skills, challenge themselves in a different environment and pick up plenty of transferable attributes that will benefit them in sport and beyond.

Huge thanks to Gary at Triangle Judo for looking after the group and putting the lads through their paces 👏

More names wrong than right — although in fairness, the team itself wasn’t bad either…

Ongoing Support. Continued Progress. Exciting Times Ahead.

Coleraine Grammar Rugby Association was delighted to continue its financial support of rugby at Coleraine Grammar School this week.

Pictured are Jonathan Todd and Colin McClean from CGRA presenting support to Richard Beggs, Head of Sport at CGS.

This support is only possible because of the continued backing of our parents, sponsors, supporters and wider school community. Your contributions help us invest directly back into the rugby programme, supporting coaching, player development and the wider growth of the game across the school.

It has been a hugely positive year on the pitch, with strong progress across the age groups, growing numbers, and a real sense of momentum throughout the programme.

With the High Performance Centre now moving closer to completion, there is plenty to be excited about as we look ahead to the next stage of rugby development at Coleraine Grammar.
