A big thank you to Greenhill Systems for their generous support of the new High Performance Centre.

Greenhill Systems kindly supplied the materials required for the roof installation, making an important contribution to the completion of a facility that will benefit the CGS rugby programme for many years to come.

On behalf of everyone at Coleraine Grammar Rugby Association, we would like to sincerely thank Paul Smyth and the team at Greenhill Systems for getting behind the project and supporting what we are trying to achieve at CGS.

Another busy weekend ahead for CGS Rugby, with the 1st XV travelling to Friends’ School Lisburn for Round 2 of the Schools’ Cup group stages.

The 2nd XV and Medallion XV also make the trip to Lisburn, while our U14s and U13s welcome Friends’ to Coleraine. The U12s get the weekend underway on Friday with a trip to Dublin to take on Willow Park.

This week we’re delighted to recognise Ramore Portrush for their continued support of the CGS Rugby programme. Ramore Restaurants really needs no introduction — a staple of the North Coast and a business that has been part of the local community for generations. We’re hugely grateful to have their backing behind our boys and the wider rugby programme.

Schools Cup Campaign Underway

A positive start to the Schools Cup campaign for our 1st XV this morning against Belfast High School.

A strong team performance from the boys as they take their first step in this year’s competition.

Thanks to Belfast High School for the game and we wish them all the best for the remainder of the season.

Plenty of rugby still to come, but a great start for the boys.

A big weekend ahead for CGS Rugby as our 1st XV begin their Schools’ Cup campaign, welcoming Belfast High School to the Big Sand on Saturday morning for Round 1 of the group stages.

There’s plenty of rugby across the programme too, with the Medallion XV travelling to Rainey, while the U14s and U13s host Campbell College. Our U12s get the weekend underway on Friday afternoon away to Ballyclare High.

No weekend off for the coaches!

An 8.00am start on Saturday morning as our coaching team took part in a CPD session led by Director of Rugby, Kieran Campbell.

We’re very fortunate to have someone with Kieran’s knowledge and experience at CGS. It’s great to see that experience being shared across our coaching team as we continue to develop the rugby programme at every level.

No doubt the coaches picked up a few nuggets of inspiration along the way…

In Memory of Darren Quigg

A small but very meaningful addition to our High Performance Centre.

This cross section has been installed in memory of Darren Quigg — coach, friend and a hugely positive influence on so many.

Darren was taken from us far too early. There’s no doubt he would have loved seeing the new HPC, the opportunities it is creating for our young players and the continued development of rugby & sport at Coleraine Grammar.

It’s a small token from the Rugby Association, but one that ensures Darren’s name and the impact he had will remain part of CGS Sport for years to come.

Missed dearly. Never forgotten.

A huge thank you to Bob & Berts Coleraine, one of the principal sponsors of Coleraine Grammar Rugby, for their continued support of the programme.

Pictured today are Joe, our 1st XV Captain, alongside Paulina, Store Manager, and Weronika from Bob & Berts.

Bob & Berts also very kindly hosted the boys this morning before they set off for Dublin, where the 1st and 2nd XV took on St Andrew’s College.

Support like this makes a genuine difference to what we are able to provide for our players, and we are extremely grateful to have Bob & Berts behind CGS Rugby.

Thank you for continuing to support the boys, the school and the wider rugby programme.
