It's Pride Day here in Belfast, and whatever you're doing to celebrate, we hope you have a lovely day 😊

Pride is really important to us here at Marrow. You can be gay, bisexual, le***an, trans, pansexual, asexual, straight, or anything in between to join the register and donate your stem cells to someone in need of a lifesaving transplant. Everyone who joins our register goes through the same health and suitability checks – your sexuality or gender identity doesn’t make a difference! You just need to be between 16-30 and in good health.

It's a day of celebration in Northern Ireland as lockdown restrictions are lifted 🌞 We have another reason to celebrate too! 😊

Last month, two superheroes who were signed up by Belfast Marrow donated their stem cells to potentially save someone's life. Pretty amazing!

Have you joined the register yet?
(Or for the keen beans among you, have you pestered your friends and family to sign up yet? πŸ‘€)

β€œI plan to run 10k this weekend to support anthony nolan. My son conor has been battling leukaemia since aug 2016 when he was just 19 months old. Following a relapse in June 2020, his next treatment plan was to receive a stem cell transplant. He has recently met his 100 days post transplant milestone, and is doing fantastic. Anthony nolan has helped us so much along this difficult journey. My partner and I spent 2 1/2 months in bristol with conor, to receive this life saving treatment. The care received was amazing and the charitable help along the way made this journey so much easier. Thanks to Anthony nolan for all you do!”

Congrats to our friends at Belfast Marrow - fantastic achievement!

We're thrilled to have won 1st Prize for Donor Recruitment at the National Marrow Awards! πŸ₯³ This award is extra special to us because it's the third year in a row that we've won this prize - something that we didn't imagine would be possible a few years ago.

Congratulations to last year's president Jill Copes and to all the 2019-20 committee and volunteers! And a HUGE thank you to Lili Vetter and Amy Bartlett, the regional Anthony Nolan staff members who helped us out throughout the year. It was a shorter year than we'd planned, of course, but even with a pandemic, you all helped us sign up 1429 potential lifesavers to the stem cell register! 🀩

Thanks SO much to everyone who helped us make this happen over the past year. We really hope that lives will be saved by your efforts - that's the reason behind everything that we do. We're excited for the year ahead, and lastly want to say a massive well done to all the other Marrow groups across the UK, who've all being doing such amazing work! πŸ₯³πŸ’™
