We're honoured to specially invite you to our first Black History Month Celebration and Community Gala/Diversity Day.

As this year's theme goes, "Honouring Our Communities", this is a vibrant day to celebrate African culture, creativity, community and diversity in West Dunbartonshire and Glasgow.

There will be art exhibitions, African fashion and culture, poetry, spoken word and storytelling, music and cultural performances, and African foods and flavours.

We're excited to welcome you as our Special Guests on this auspicious occasion of celebrating culture and diversity in West Dunbartonshire and Glasgow.

We hope you will be able to create the time amidst your busy schedule, to attend our event.

There are no words to describe what happened today!

As African Women Support Network opened our new space today with our Community Empowerment, Intergration, and Networking Programmes, we welcomed the amazing women who make up our community. Not only that, we're honoured by our sister organisations B.J.O Amara Associations Isaro Community Initiative Sharpen Her and Moments of Freedom.

This wouldn't been possible without the generous support of The National Lottery Community Fund The National Lottery The National Lottery Community Fund Scotland .

With generous funding from the National Lottery EMDF and WDCVS CMHWF, we are excited to announce the launch of AWSN Ladies Weekly Drop-in, starting on Thursday 10th September 2026.

Join us every Thursday from 11am to 2pm at Centre81, Clydebank.

This is a space to network, learn new skills, and get empowered.

Come along to our first drop-in session. It's a safe space to meet other women, learn, share and network.

This is what summer hangout looks like when it's organised by African Women Support Network

1st of August was all smiles, happiness, lots of foods, drinks, and fun for everyone!

We came out in our numbers and left with so much joy in our lives.

Special thanks to all our Admins who worked tirelessly to ensure everything went well. And thanks to all our women who brought all the delicious food and treats for us to enjoy.

Special appreciation to McIntyre and his wife Katherine for joining us and sharing in our joy.

We couldn't have done this without the generous support from WDCVS Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund. Thank you so much for the fund to bring African women together with our families, to reduce isolation and foster community spirit.
