Marisa was so pleased coming across this big chunky caterpillar and preceeded to tell us what it was.

"That amazing caterpillar will one day be an amazing elephant hawk moth! It was fun to do some weeding, but with nature in mind"

Everyday is a school day , explore your world.

Hi Parkhall Tennant's and residents.

If you are free on Monday evening and want to help up at our community garden plot , at Glenhead garages .you are welcome.

We shall be up at the site about 6pm to tidy the space .

If you have any spare gardening equipment you can bring that will be useful until we secure tools of our own.

See you then if you can make it along πŸ₯°

A few tenants have asked what we do and what issues we deal with.

So let me explain as best I can.

We do not deal with council related issues or complaints.

If you have concerns about issues such as grass , weeds, dog excrement.

You will need to contact your Community Council or your Housing Officer.

Whilst we listen to people's unease and address the issues with the relevant departments when we can.

Our current aim is to actively be involved in trying to improve our community .

And with the support of Andy Devine, Greenspace Officer. Councillors Sophie Traynor , Diane Docherty and Tenant's Participation Officer Jennifer McKechnie we are achieving this.

Funding applications are also being filled in to help us financially achieve our vision for the area.

One of those being a community garden space that our tenants and residents can use.

We are greatful that we have been allocated space to do this and will update the page as this progresses.

We are not here to agree or disagree on people's thoughts about what should be getting done by our council.

Our mindset is about looking positively at the future and the possibilities we can create for our community.

There is enough negativity in the world and we don't intend to add to it.

In the next few weeks we shall be visiting the site at Glenhead road, where our first raised bed will be placed.

We intend to maintain this plot and if successful add more through time, with the guidance and support of Jennifer McKechnie.

Hopefully you will join us and be part of the solution and not the problem .

Together we can unite a community and create a space for young and old to grow , learn and support each other.

We hope that everyone will be a part of the growth.

Thankyou to all residents who were able to attend tonight's pick.

We were delighted to see the streets looked pretty clean before we started.

However us lot would find a needle in a haystack and we did , although not a needle or haystack in sight.

Just plenty of little bits of rubbish jammed in hedges and long grass 🀐🀐🀐.

We finished beaming with pride and delighted we took action to make our community cleaner

See you next month πŸ₯°

Your community matters!!!

To the people who travelled less than 300 yards from their property and dumped the items inside the energy station on Parkhall Road and discarded more stuff a few weeks earlier in the wooded area.

Your details have now been passed onto the relevant departments.

A massive thankyou to SP Energy networks who acted swiftly to remove the household items and tackled the super glued padlock preventing them getting access.

Thankyou πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡
