πŸ’› THANKFUL THURSDAY πŸ’›

Today, we're giving a HUGE Rainbow Valley thank you to our wonderful Ambassador Michelle for going above and beyond and organising her very own The Music of Mamma Mia event this October! 🌈🎢

If you love ABBA, adore the movie Mamma Mia! or simply fancy a night filled with fantastic music, fun and plenty of dancing, then this is definitely one for you! πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Even better… all proceeds from the event will come to Rainbow Valley, helping us continue to provide our free courses and support to people affected by cancer. πŸ’œ

Michelle, thank you for putting your time, energy and passion into making this happen. We are incredibly grateful for your support and for helping us spread the Rainbow Valley message. 🌈

So, get your dancing shoes ready, warm up those vocal cords and take a chance on this fabulous night! 🎀✨

πŸƒ WORKOUT WEDNESDAY

Gentle movement can give you a mental break and help you feel more connected to your body.

You don't have to do it all. Every little bit of movement counts.
Here's your 5-minute challenge! ⏱️

🚢 1 minute walking
πŸ™† 1 minute gentle stretching
πŸͺ‘ 1 minute seated movement
πŸ’ƒ 1 minute dancing
🌬️ 1 minute slow breathing

That's it!

No fancy equipment. No gym membership. No pressure.

Just five minutes to move your body in a way that feels right for you.

Ready? Set? MOVE! 🌈

πŸ’¬ Did you complete the challenge? Give us a πŸ™Œ if you did!

Most importantly, there's no "right" way to move.

Listen to your body, start where you are and move in a way that feels right for you. 🌈

Some days you might manage a walk. Other days, a few gentle stretches from a chair might be enough. And sometimes, resting is exactly what your body needs.

πŸ’‘ TOP TIP TUESDAY

Don't be afraid to ask for help.

Whether it's making a cup of tea, going to an appointment, listening when you've had a difficult day or simply keeping you company β€” support can come in many different forms.

You don't have to do everything alone.

Sometimes the strongest thing we can say is: "I need a little help." πŸ’œ

πŸ’¬ Tag someone who has been there for you.

🌿 MINDFUL MONDAY

We can be incredibly kind to everyone else… but sometimes forget to show ourselves the same kindness.

This week, focus on changing the way you speak to yourself.

Instead of "I should be doing more," try "I'm doing the best I can."

Instead of "I haven't achieved enough," try "I've achieved something today."

And instead of waiting until you've done everything… give yourself permission to rest.

You deserve the same kindness you give to others. πŸ’œ

❀️ Save this post for a day when you need the reminder.

😴Sweet Dreams Sunday
Sleep is important for everyone, but when you’re living with cancer, getting good-quality rest can be especially valuable. πŸ’œπŸŒ™

Your body needs time to rest, recover and recharge, while good sleep can support your energy, mood, concentration and overall wellbeing. Cancer and its treatments can sometimes make sleep more difficult, whether through stress, changes to routine, pain or treatment side effects.

At Rainbow Valley, we know that looking after yourself isn’t just about getting through treatment β€” it’s about supporting your whole wellbeing. Creating a relaxing bedtime routine, giving yourself time to unwind and listening to what your body needs can all help.

And remember, rest is not being lazy β€” your body is doing important work while you sleep. πŸŒ™πŸ’œ

Getting ready for a good night's sleep starts before your head hits the pillow.

Tonight, try creating your own little bedtime ritual:

πŸ“± Put your phone away
πŸ•―οΈ Dim the lights
πŸ“– Read something relaxing
β˜• Avoid caffeine late in the day
πŸŒ™ Give yourself time to unwind

Your body and mind deserve time to switch off.

Tonight, make sleep part of your self-care. πŸ’œ

πŸ’¬ What's one thing that helps you sleep?

Did you know that laughing can help us relax, lift our mood and connect with other people?

So today, watch the funny video, tell the terrible joke, share the meme or simply spend some time with someone who makes you laugh.

Because sometimes laughter really is the best medicine. πŸ’œ

πŸ’› THANKFUL THURSDAY πŸ’›

Today, we’re shining a huge spotlight on some of our incredible supporters, who are going above and beyond to support Rainbow Valley! πŸŒˆπŸ’œ

On 6th September, from 2pm–6pm, Stevie Reid, Paul O'Hara, and their amazing team of volunteers including Yvonne and Kimberly Craig, are hosting a 7-a-side Football Tournament, with all proceeds going to Rainbow Valley! βš½πŸ™Œ

We are incredibly grateful to everyone involved in making this event happen. As a small charity, we rely heavily on the generosity, time and dedication of people like this to help us continue educating and empowering people affected by cancer.

It looks set to be a fantastic afternoon, with plenty happening alongside the football, and we absolutely cannot wait! πŸŽ‰βš½

πŸ’œ Every volunteer, fundraiser and supporter makes a difference.
From organising events to giving their time, energy and kindness, every contribution helps us reach more people who need our support.

We simply couldn't do what we do without you.

Thank you to every single person giving their time to support Rainbow Valley. πŸ’œπŸŒˆ
