βš½πŸ’™ What made you smile today?

Scotland certainly gave us a reason to smile this weekend with a fantastic 1–0 victory over Haiti! πŸ™Œ

One of our amazing ambassadors, Nicola, also spread a little joy by asking her employees a simple but powerful question: "What made you smile today?"

Sometimes it's the big moments that bring us happiness, like celebrating a win. Other times, it's the small things – a kind word, a shared laugh, or knowing someone cares enough to ask.

So, we'll ask you the same question... What made you smile today? 😊

What made you smile today?
Joy is super excited about Scotland playing their first game. We’re sure plenty of people across the country will be staying up to cheer on Scotland in the World Cup.

Whether you’re a die-hard fan or just enjoy the excitement, seeing Scotland in the World Cup is something we can all be proud of. Good luck Scotland!

As a Scottish charity, we’re absolutely delighted to be cheering Scotland on every step of the way! πŸ’™

Chairs pulled into a circle for our laughter session. Joy our mascot bringing some Joy. And every person in the room choosing to be here.

There's a moment in every session we run that we've stopped trying to plan for. It just arrives. Somewhere around the middle, the shoulders drop. The voices soften. Someone says the thing they came in afraid to say, and three other people nod because they've felt it too. The room stops being a group of strangers and becomes something else entirely.

That's the moment we do this for. Where people living with cancer and the people who love them realise they're not the only ones carrying this. We're so grateful to everyone who has walked into our sessions at Gleddoch Resort and trusted the circle enough to be themselves in it. 🧑

We understand that the thought of joining a group can feel daunting, especially if you're worried about being expected to talk about your diagnosis or share deeply personal experiences.

Our sessions are not therapy sessions, and there is absolutely no expectation for you to discuss your diagnosis or explain your feelings. Instead, we focus on providing practical techniques and tools to help you better understand how your body is responding to stress and emotions, and how to nurture your body, mind and soul.

That said, our sessions are designed to be a safe, supportive space. Some people choose to share aspects of how they're feeling, which can help us offer encouragement, feedback and reassurance, but sharing is never prompted or expected.

Come as you are. Listen, learn, take away what feels helpful, and know that you'll be welcomed without judgement or pressure.

🌈 Bounce Bingo – In Aid of Rainbow Valley 🌈

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of music, laughter, dancing and bingo as we come together to raise money for the incredible Rainbow Valley.

This year's Bounce Bingo is especially close to my heart, as the event is being held in loving memory of my dear friend, Nicole Smith.

Nicole absolutely loved Rainbow Valley events and their amazing community spirit. She stood by my side at our last Bingo event, bringing her warmth, laughter and infectious enthusiasm to everyone around her. It feels only right that we celebrate her life by doing something she truly enjoyed – bringing people together for a great cause.

So gather your friends, put on your dancing shoes and get ready for an afternoon packed with fun, fantastic prizes and plenty of unforgettable moments, all while supporting a charity that meant so much to Nicole.

Every purchase helps Rainbow Valley continue the incredible work they do, and together we can honour Nicole's memory in the most fitting way possible – with joy, kindness and a room full of smiles.

πŸ’œ Let's make Nicole proud.

"I was just born too soon."

That's what Johanna said to her mum during treatment. She was 16 when she was diagnosed with Leukaemia, and over the next 12 years, she and her mother Angela kept noticing the same thing: the disease was being treated, but the person wasn't. Not the mind. Not the body beyond the illness. Not the soul.

Johanna passed away in 2005, aged 27. She believed that one day, cancer care would look at the whole person, not just the cells. She just felt she'd arrived a little too early to see it.

Angela MacVicar took that sentence and built something from it. Rainbow Valley exists because of a mother who refused to let her daughter's insight disappear. Our courses sit alongside medical care, supporting people through cancer with attention to mind, body and soul β€” the gap Johanna named all those years ago.

Every person who walks through our doors is part of Johanna's legacy, and part of Angela's quiet, determined answer to a sentence she never forgot. 🧑

Please check out our website for more information on our courses or if you would like to help keep Johanna's legacy alive.

πŸ’™ Another colour has found its sponsor! πŸ’™

A huge thank you to Standard Real Estate Ltd for sponsoring one of our coloured T-shirts and choosing Blue! We think their logo looks absolutely fabulous on the back and we can't wait to see it out and about.

That means there are now just 4 colours left to choose from. If you'd like to support Rainbow Valley and have your business featured on one of our T-shirts, we'd love to hear from you!

Come with Joy, our mascot, to a very special cheque presentation. 🐻 🌟

We were delighted to visit St Fillans Primary School to receive a generous cheque of Β£1,000 from their fundraiser. A huge thank you to John for nominating Rainbow Valley as this years beneficiary, and to Mrs McPherson, St Fillans Head Teacher for this opportunity. We feel incredibly lucky that Rainbow Valley was chosen.

It was wonderful to meet some of the children involved and to thank them in person for their kindness and hard work. And, of course, Joy came along for the ride, doing what she does best - spreading smiles, cuddles and a little bit of joy wherever she goes. 🐻 🌈 🌟

To conclude our Volunteers' Week, we'd like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our dedicated Board of Trustees: Louise, our Chairperson; Steven, our Treasurer; Yvonne, our Secretary; and Elaine, our Trustee.

Behind every successful charity is a team of committed individuals working tirelessly to ensure it is well-governed, financially secure, and able to make the greatest possible impact. Our trustees generously give their time, expertise, and guidance, helping to shape the future of our organisation and supporting us every step of the way.

Their dedication often happens behind the scenes, but their contribution is invaluable. We are incredibly grateful for their commitment, leadership, and unwavering support.

Thank you, Louise, Steven, Yvonne, and Elaine, for everything you do for Rainbow Valley and the community we serve. πŸ’œ
