As we head into the weekend, we wanted to take a moment to say thank you.

At Community Links Scotland, so much of what we do is only possible because of the support of our funders. From energy advice and wellbeing to our Healthy Pathways programme and our Starterpacks initiative, the funding translates directly into support for people who need it most across West Dunbartonshire.

Every day we see the difference this makes to people’s lives. It might be someone feeling less anxious about their energy bills, having what they need to settle into a home, or simply knowing there is support there when things feel difficult.

A huge thank you to the funders who support our work across our different programmes:
• Healthy Pathways – The National Lottery Community Fund and the Community Mental Health & Wellbeing Fund (WDCVS)
• Energy Advice Service – Energy Redress Scheme and The Robertson Trust
• Starterpacks – Awards for All and Skipton Building Society Charitable Foundation (Skipton Building Society)

And the People’s Postcode Trust (players of Postcode Lottery UK), whose support helps strengthen all three areas of our work.

We do not take that trust lightly, and we are proud to turn this investment into support that makes a real difference.

Energy Advice that comes to you, at home.

Sometimes the best support is not over the phone or online, it is sitting down together in someone’s home and working things through properly.

Our West Dunbartonshire Energy Advice Service offers home visits to households who need a bit more time, support, or confidence when it comes to managing their energy.

Visiting people at home means we can:
• Look at heating systems and energy use in real time
• Explain bills in a way that makes sense
• Talk through any issues with suppliers, step by step
• Help identify practical ways to reduce costs based on how the home is actually used

For many people, this makes a real difference. It takes away the pressure of trying to explain things over the phone and allows us to give advice that is tailored, practical, and easy to act on.

We can also connect households into wider support where needed, so that energy issues are not being dealt with in isolation.

If you or someone you support could benefit from a home visit, please get in touch:

We had such a lovely afternoon at Dalmuir Barclay Church Community Pantry on Friday 29 May.

Five local people joined us for a creative taster session, designing and making their own gem coasters. A simple idea, but a great way to spark conversations, share skills and enjoy something different together.

Big thank you to Liz Stewart and the DBC pantry team for making us feel so welcome and helping everything run smoothly on the day.

This was part of our Healthy Pathways programme, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. It’s all about giving people a chance to try something new, build confidence, and feel a bit more connected.

If your organisation would like to host a free creative taster session, just drop a comment below or get in touch with Laureen at [email protected] or 07749 390108.

Outreach sessions like this help us connect with more people and make a real difference in local communities. Thanks again to everyone who took part, more to come.
