🏆 A Legacy of Excellence Continues at TS Temeraire! 🏆

We are absolutely delighted to congratulate POC Milner on his appointment as the Lord-Lieutenant of Kent Sea Cadet for 2026/2027.

This prestigious honour recognises exceptional leadership, commitment, and service, and reflects the outstanding contribution that POC Milner has made both to TS Temeraire and the wider Sea Cadet movement.

What makes this achievement particularly special is that POC Milner follows in the footsteps of two previous TS Temeraire cadets, POC Recchia and POC McKenzie-Cook, who were also appointed as Lord-Lieutenant's Cadets. Both have since gone on to become highly valued adult volunteers within TS Temeraire, continuing to inspire and support the next generation of cadets. Their success demonstrates how the values, skills and confidence developed through Sea Cadets can lead to a lifelong commitment to serving others.

Having three Lord-Lieutenant's Cadets emerge from TS Temeraire is a remarkable achievement and reflects the dedication of our cadets, volunteers and supporters. It is a testament to the culture of excellence, leadership and opportunity that exists within our unit.

Throughout his time at TS Temeraire, POC Milner has consistently demonstrated the qualities expected of a Lord-Lieutenant's Cadet: professionalism, integrity, commitment and a willingness to help others succeed. We have no doubt that he will be an outstanding ambassador for Sea Cadets across Kent throughout the coming year.

We were honoured to attend the awards ceremony hosted by The Lord-Lieutenant of Kent, The Lady Colgrain, and were particularly privileged to be joined by Commander D Grindel RN, Southern Area Officer, whose presence made the occasion even more special.

Everyone at TS Temeraire is immensely proud of POC Milner and we look forward to supporting him as he undertakes this prestigious role, representing Sea Cadets and the young people of Kent at civic and ceremonial events across the county.

🚢⚓ Trafalgar Day 2026 ⚓🚢

Today we commemorate the Battle of Trafalgar, fought on 21 October 1805, when Vice Admiral Lord Nelson led the Royal Navy to a decisive victory that shaped the future of Britain's maritime history.

While Nelson lost his life in the battle, his leadership, courage and commitment to duty remain an inspiration to sailors and cadets around the world more than two centuries later.

Here at TS Temeraire, we are proud to honour that legacy. Each year, our cadets take part in both the District Trafalgar Parade and the prestigious National Trafalgar Day Parade in London, standing alongside fellow Sea Cadets from across the country to remember those who served and sacrificed at Trafalgar.

These events are a reminder of the values that continue to guide us today: courage, commitment, discipline, integrity, loyalty, teamwork and service. We are incredibly proud of the smart turnout, professionalism and dedication shown by our cadets whenever they represent the unit at these important commemorations.

As we remember the heroes of Trafalgar, we also celebrate the next generation of young people who are carrying forward our proud maritime traditions.

💻🚀 TS TEMERAIRE HOSTS CYBERFIRST WEEKEND FOR SOUTHERN AREA SEA CADETS 🚀💻

This weekend, TS Temeraire was proud to host a fantastic CyberFirst Weekend on behalf of Southern Area Sea Cadets, introducing young people to the exciting and rapidly growing world of cyber security and digital technology.

On Saturday, cadets took part in CyberFirst Adventurers, where they explored a range of cyber and technology-related activities including digital forensics, cryptography challenges, website creation and the use of data analysis to solve real-world problems. Activities included Digital Detective, Crack the Code, Go Create, and The Data Games, giving cadets an engaging introduction to the skills that underpin the digital world around us.

Sunday saw our younger cadets take part in CyberFirst Trailblazers, designed specifically for 10 to 11-year-olds. During the day they learned how websites are built and customised through Go Create, explored digital footprints and online investigations in Digital Detective, and demonstrated their creativity through Media Mogul, where teams designed and produced their own stop-motion advertising campaigns. These activities showed how technology, creativity and problem-solving work hand in hand.

CyberFirst, inspired and led by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), part of GCHQ, aims to inspire young people to explore technology and cyber security, helping develop the next generation of digital innovators and cyber specialists.

It was fantastic to see so many cadets from across the area taking part, developing new skills, tackling challenges, working in teams and gaining confidence in subjects that will be increasingly important in the future.

A huge thank you to the instructors, volunteers and staff who delivered and supported the weekend, and well done to every cadet who took part. The enthusiasm, creativity and problem-solving on display throughout the weekend were outstanding.

Who knows? We may well have seen some of the UK's future cyber security experts take their first steps this weekend! 🌐🔐💻

🇬🇧⚓ TS TEMERAIRE TAKES PART IN WEST KENT DISTRICT TRAFALGAR DAY PARADE 2026 ⚓🇬🇧

Last Sunday, cadets and staff from TS Temeraire (Medway Victory Sea Cadets) proudly joined Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets from across the West Kent District for the annual Trafalgar Day Parade in Gravesend. The parade commemorates the Royal Navy's victory at the Battle of Trafalgar and honours the service and sacrifice of those who have served our nation at sea.

Representing TS Temeraire on parade were 18 cadets from across the unit, ranging from our Junior Cadets through to our senior cadets. They joined hundreds of other young people in a ceremonial parade through the streets of Gravesend before attending a service at St George's Church.

The day included an inspection by a representative for Lady Colgrain, Lord Lieutenant of Kent who was unfortunatly not able to attend, efore the parade marched through Gravesend accompanied by the district band and colour party. The event provided an excellent opportunity for our cadets to demonstrate the smart turnout, discipline and teamwork that they work so hard to achieve throughout the year.

As always, our cadets were a credit to the unit. Their standards of dress, drill and conduct were exceptional, and they represented both TS Temeraire and the Sea Cadet Corps with pride.

A huge well done to every cadet who attended and thank you to the volunteers, staff and families whose support makes opportunities such as this possible.
