Our Badgers enjoyed an evening full of fun and laughter tonight, with plenty of excitement during pass the parcel, musical statues and our firm fav toilet roll mummies! It was lovely to see everyone getting involved, enjoying the games and making the most of the Halloween fun.

We finished the evening with some tasty sweet treats, the perfect way to round off a great party 🍬🧑

πŸ’šπŸš‘ Restart a Heart 2026πŸš‘ πŸ’š

Today, our amazing St John Ambulance Badgers and Cadets took part in Restart a Heart at The Junction in Antrim, helping to raise awareness of the importance of CPR and learning lifesaving skills that could one day make all the difference. Our Badgers were also on a fundraising mission and what a job they did! πŸ‘

We are absolutely bursting with pride at the enthusiasm, dedication and commitment shown by our young people. They continue to show what it means to be part of St John Ambulance, developing their skills, building confidence and helping to make a real difference in their communities. 🌟

A huge well done to all our Badgers and Cadets for getting involved. πŸ’š

πŸ›‘οΈβš”οΈMeet the Knights of St John βš”οΈ πŸ›‘οΈ

Badgers have been learning all about the fascinating Knights of St John recently! As part of our learning tonight, the Badgers designed and created their very own shields, thinking carefully about the colours, patterns and symbols they wanted to include. If you look very carefully, you will see they all made sure they included the Maltese Cross. 🎨✨

We were so impressed with their creativity and imagination as they brought their own unique designs to life! What a fantastic way to bring history to life!

Well done Badgers! πŸ‘πŸ¦‘ 🐾 πŸ’š

Tonight Badgers stepped back in time and learnt how stretchers were used during the Second World War by the St John Brigade, before putting our own skills to the test!

Badgers worked together to build stretchers, learnt how they were used, and then finished the evening with some stretcher races!

A great evening of learning, teamwork and a bit of friendly competition. Well done Badgers! 🦑 🐾 πŸ’š

Our Badgers had a fun and interactive evening on Tuesday learning all about the Maltese Cross and what it represents

The Badgers learned through a variety of games and challenges designed to test their teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. They took part in a variation of the North, East, South, West game, worked together to complete puzzles and even had to crack a secret code to uncover the next challenge.

It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, working together and having lots of fun while learning something new. The activities gave the Badgers a great opportunity to develop their skills while learning more about the Maltese Cross and its significance in St John Ambulance.

Well done to all our Badgers for their enthusiasm and teamwork! πŸ‘β

Some photos from this week's training session in Cadets, where our Cadets had the opportunity to take part in a range of practical and thought-provoking activities.

David Hardy brought along some of his specialist equipment for simulation training. The Cadets used weighted suits designed to replicate some of the physical challenges experienced by people who are overweight or have mobility difficulties. They were then asked to complete a variety of exercises while wearing the suits, giving them a practical understanding of how everyday tasks can become much more challenging.

We also had the opportunity to use VR headsets and specially designed goggles to simulate some of the experiences associated with dementia, including increased difficulty processing information, navigating surroundings and coping with distractions and noise. It was particularly interesting to see the Cadets attempt to navigate a series of obstacles while experiencing these simulated challenges.

Alongside the simulation activities, the Cadets also practised their CPR skills, Primary Survey and Recovery Position.

It is safe to say that everyone went away with a greater appreciation and understanding of some of the challenges people living with common illnesses and conditions may experience. A fantastic evening of learning, practical skills and empathy. πŸ‘
