Ballycarry Rainbows Being a Rainbow is all about learning, developing self-confidence, building friendships and having fun!

Rainbows is for girls aged four to seven

Massive shout out to all our volunteers this week as we celebrate volunteer week! Our amazing leaders and young people give their time, energy and encouragement to help girls thrive in Rainbows!

As our commissioner says.."The role may be voluntary, but the impact is extraordinary. Volunteers help create spaces where girls feel heard, supported and encouraged to try new things.

Volunteering also brings so much to those who give their time, from friendships and new skills to a real sense of purpose and belonging. Many volunteers join to support girls, but stay because of the community they become part of"

For me Guiding has brought so many opportunities, travel, fun and lifelong friendships and I'm so grateful to our whole team in Ballycarry ❤️🌈

🧜‍♀️🐠 Under the Sea Sleepover Fun! 🐠🧜‍♀️

Our Rainbows had a fantastic time at our Under the Sea Sleepover!

The Rainbows successfully completed their Tropical Challenge Badge and enjoyed a variety of seaside-themed activities! There was lots of laughter during our parachute games, Stitch ball game, shell hunt and musical beach towels!

The girls learned the song "Kookaburra Sits in the Old Gum Tree."

We also enjoyed some delicious tropical treats, including fruity mocktails and tropical fruit kebabs.

Creativity was in full flow as the girls decorated their own beach bags, made fish bracelets, bookmarks and edible beaches. They loved filling their beach bags with goodies to take home.

For some relaxation, we enjoyed pamper time with face masks, played a calming Rainbow UMA focused on our morning routine, and stretched along with the whale story.

The fun continued as the girls got all glammed up at our Under the Sea Beauty Bar and feeling fabulous they learned a hula dance!

Each Rainbow received her overnight badge to take home. There were lots of smiles!

We were trainee Astronauts this week who had to complete a series of challenges to graduate Space Academy! Balance, agility, strength and coordination were tested with a series of Girlguiding UMAs!

We boarded our Space shuttle and blasted off into space together!

Rainbows visited some of the planets, discovered some planet facts and completed a series of space missions before heading home!

The storms were ferocious when we arrived at Jupiter! Our parachute was moving up and down in the wind! There were so many volcanic eruptions at Venus! Check out our pretty Rainbow Spaceships too 👨‍🚀🚀🌈

Rainbows is about having fun and trying new things 🌈

We celebrated fun and friendship with a special 100th Birthday celebration of World Thinking Day, with our friends from Whitehead Rainbows. We had fun learning some new Dance and Cheerleading moves from Velocity Cheerleaders🕺

We developed our love for nature and the outdoors by planting some beautiful flowers and decorating some pots for our families.

Rainbows celebrated a special birthday with our leader Rachel who is a real asset to our team and a fantastic role model to our young girls! Happy Birthday Rachel!

We also had fun decorating Easter bonnets, having an outdoor egg hunt and lots of Easter games...egg and spoon race, Easter bunny hop relay, Easter traffic lights, sleeping bunnies and in and out go the duty blue bells (x13 😅 lol) 🐣🐰🐣🐰
