Rainbows finished for the term last night with a unicorn themed pot of gold party for our girls who are moving up to brownies! We made unicorn windchimes, played pin the horn on the unicorn & “unicorn unicorn rainbow” and had a rainbow piñata with lots of sweets! We also had delicious unicorn cupcakes and pink lemonade. 🦄
A big well done to Leona who completed her gold award this term 🥇

We played some fun games outside at rainbows tonight including an obstacle course which was a big hit ❤️ we had ice lollies as a treat to finish with! 🍦

We finished our ocean challenge badge at rainbows on Thursday! We made mermaid tail shortbread, decorated sea creature magnets, played ships sinking & played parachute games like “treasure chest” and “crossing the Atlantic”. We all got a lovely badge to take home 🧜‍♀️ well done rainbows! 💙🌊

Last night Yoga with Siri Meylahn came out and did a yoga session with the rainbows 🧘 we learnt some yoga poses, mindfulness and team work 🤝 the rainbows were so good and quiet 🤫 and really got into the yoga mindset! Thank you Siri for a fantastic session!

This also meant we could finish off our football challenge badge by thinking about having a healthy body and a healthy mind 🧠 we also designed our own football kit!

Leona, one of our rainbows has been busy working on her discover skills builder badge, and even found the time to do some badge work while on holiday in Thailand! 🇹🇭
For the “be brave” part of the badge she went canoeing through a dark cave into a hidden lagoon! 🛶 very brave indeed!!
She also learnt how to make a mocktail for “make and shake”🍸 worked in a team and learnt more about her team mates playing water polo 🤽and for “build a team machine”, she worked with her dad to make animals out of towels 🦢
Well done Leona and we hope you had a fantastic holiday!! ☀️ 🏝️

We had some visitors from Whitehead Eagles Junior Academy yesterday at rainbows, Chris and Harry came out to teach the rainbows some football skills! ⚽️ We played some games to learn how to dribble and control the ball, and how to shoot for goal 🥅

It was a really brilliant experience for the girls & thank you to Chris and Harry for such a great night!

Tonight was our promise night at rainbows with lots of our rainbows saying their promise and getting their promise badge!
We thought about what it means to be kind and helpful by playing a promise game and we coloured in promise colouring sheets to help us remember! We also tried out some of our new outdoor games in the garden! Well done rainbows ☀️❤️

Last night we enjoyed being outside in the sunshine ☀️ we had fun blowing bubbles 🫧, painted ocean themed pictures🎨, played “shark attack” 🦈and played parachute games. We also had some sweet treats! Hoping the nice weather keeps up so we can make the most of our lovely outdoor space. Well done rainbows!

Tonight we took our older Rainbows to Brownies for the night as they will be moving up to Brownies in September! We played parachute games, watched a puppet show the brownies have been working on and made scratch art bookmarks to take home. Thank you Whitehead Brownies for hosting us! 💛🤎
