Open Door Centre The Open Door Centre is the community outreach base for Carrickfergus Community Church; it’s where If you’re over 60, you’re really welcome to come along.

We are situated at the corner of Bridewell Drive and Sunnylands Avenue and are open most weekdays for a variety of programs and services. All our volunteers are Safeguarding trained and have a caring interest in the programs they take part in. WHAT’S ON

MONDAYS Connect Friends
Connect Friends meets on the second and last Mondays of each month from 2-3pm. We love getting together for crafts, playi

ng games, going on trips and catching up over cake. TUESDAYS Playtime
Playtime is a parent and toddler group who meet on Tuesdays during term time from 10.00-12.00noon. Our Playtime session is set up for parents and children aged 0-3 to play together, meet with other families and enjoy time out of the house. WEDNESDAYS New group starting soon! THURSDAYS AND FRIDAYS Carrickfergus BabyBank
Carrickfergus Babybank is set up to provide emergency baby supplies to the Carrickfergus, Greenisland and Whitehead areas. We are open on Thursdays 6-7.30pm and Fridays 12.30-1:30pm and work on a referral basis. If you need our support, please contact us and we will send a list of our referral agencies who will work through the referral process with you.

Carrickfergus Community Chess Club returns for our second season on Tuesday 15th September run as a community initiative by Carrickfergus Community Church, we are back at the Open Door Centre on Bridewell Drive every Tuesday with extended hours from 6.30pm to 9pm

Whether you are completely new to the game or an experienced player looking for a competitive edge, there is a space here for you

Session Details:
* 6.30pm to 8.00pm: Open session for all ages and abilities
* 8.00pm to 9.00pm: Timed sessions for advanced play and deeper learning

Admission is £1 for children and concessions, and £2 for adults

Please note that all children must be accompanied by an adult

Come along for a welcoming evening of community, solidarity, and good chess
