Sorry for not being active! Over the past few weeks we have all been ill and not been able to go down! Yesterday we went down just to play on the court for a little bit as we didn't have access to any tools this weekend, however as you can see some more work has been done on the side of the court! We would like to thank the lovely gentlemen who has also helped clear some of the court! It makes us proud to know that us starting to clear it has led to more of the community looking after it and having a go at helping clear it up! We will continue to work on it and we can't wait to have it all cleared! 😁

Today we went down to the court to make a start on the other growth and litter! We were down there for 4 hours but Thanks to John Mason from Stump Technik for helping us we managed to cut down all the brambles and blew off all the glass! The court looks a lot better! Here are some videos of our improvement from today alone! We would also like to thank anyone who helped out! More to come soon and we will be back down there next Saturday!

Yesterday I took this video of me walking around the court. As you can see it is very over grown with brambles and moss. The thorns on the brambles are everywhere all over the court resulting in basketballs deflating after playing and thorns sticking through thin shoes. There is also litter everywhere such as energy drink cans and fizzy drink bottles. On the other side of the court there is a large piece of metal in the bushes and a cricket net and fencing blocking the other net. Finally you can see smashed glass all over the middle of the court which is dangerous for young children. Yesterday whilst I was visiting there were some younger children playing there so having it tidy would be alot safer for them aswell!

Today we went down to the court to scope out what would need to be done! Whilst there we met some other people who were playing on the court! This has made us happy that we aren't just fixing up the court for our benefit and that it will be used by others aswell! Here you can see that the backboard is slightly damaged, there is fencing and nets as well as large panels of metal on one side of the court and there is litter and smashed glass on the other side! At this time it is not a good place to play (I found that out myself after my ball deflated after playing here a few weeks back 😂) however we can't wait till its clean and in use again!
