You may see multiple fire engines and emergency service vehicles near Heysham Port tomorrow between 8:30am until approximately 1pm.

Please do not worry, this is not an emergency, our crews are taking part in a training exercise.

Our firefighters train hard to make sure they're ready for the next real-world emergency.

During a recent evening drill night, a group of young people entered our drill yard and climbed onto our drill tower. Firefighters safely intercepted them, explained the dangers of falls from height, and gave them a station tour.

​While we love engaging with our community, our drill yard is strictly private property and is not a playground! ⚠️

​The yard contains active operational hazards and tall structures meant strictly for trained personnel. Climbing or trespassing puts individuals at genuine risk. ⛔️

​Parents and guardians: please remind young people to stay safe and keep out of operational yards. We’re always happy to welcome visitors during organised and official station events!

A busy, varied day for our crew today.

​👉 👨‍🚒 BA Training: Firefighters from Carnforth, Silverdale Fire Station, and Bolton-le-Sands joined forces at Preston Fire Station fire house to practice their Breathing Apparatus skills ahead of August's Team Leader assessments, tackling realistic searches and tight confined spaces.

​👉 🚒 Incident: Right after leaving Preston, we were 'fire flashed' alongside Fulwood Fire Station to an RTC involving an Electric Vehicle in Inglewhite area. Well done to FF Metcalfe, who took charge of his very first incident as OIC!

​👉 🐕 Community Event: To wrap up the day, we dropped by to support Burch Tree Vets at their community event!

Most wildfires are preventable.

Avoid using disposable barbecues in open spaces, take litter home, and never discard ci******es, matches or glass bottles where they could ignite dry vegetation.

Together, we can reduce the risk, protect our environment and support our emergency services during this period of heightened wildfire activity.

Yesterday at 14:51, our crew was mobilised to Broughton Fire Station near Salford to provide standby cover for the Greater Manchester area. The local crews in Manchester were busy tackling ongoing wildfires, and had a depletion of cover in the area.

​During our 9 hour deployment, we were turned out to:
​🚗 Road Traffic Collision (RTC) in the Prestwich area.
​🔥 Fire in the open in the Heywood area.
​🚑 Gaining Entry for the North West Ambulance Service in Swinton (which was handed over to Broughton’s own crew as they returned to their home station).

​We finally rolled back into our own station at midnight.

​It was a fantastic experience for our crew, allowing us to work seamlessly alongside our neighbours. A massive thank you to the crew at Broughton Fire Station and managers at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) for being so incredibly accommodating and welcoming to us throughout the day.

Last night we were called along with Bolton-le-Sands and Silverdale Fire Station to a fire involving a outbuilding in the Warton area. Crews made a great knock to the fire to prevent further damage and fire spread.

We returned back to station after being in attendance for just over 2 hours. 🔥📟🚒🚒🚒
