🚨 Big Day at Carnforth Station! 🚨
We’ve got two massive results to celebrate for the team.
First up, a huge well done to FF Barnes for passing her Emergency Response Driving (ERD) course! Sam’s put in serious hours behind the wheel and smashed a two-week intensive course to get her blue lights. 🚒💨

Also, a big congrats to FF Metcalfe, who just passed his Officer in Charge (OIC) course. After three days of training and a final assessment, Graeme is now qualified to lead the initial response at incidents as a Firefighter. This is until a higher ranked officer (crew manager or watch manager) of another appliance arrives. 👨‍🚒

Having another driver and officer on the system is a massive boost for us. It means better availability and response for the community when it counts.
Top work, Sam and Graeme! 👏📟🔥

Our very own Jordan Moore delivering some water safety advice!!🌊🌊🏊🏿

It can be tempting to cool off as the weather warms up – but staying safe around water is vital.

Our team from Salt Ayre Leisure Centre - together with Sharkie - teamed up with Lancashire Fire and Rescue for a fun, hands‑on water safety session at Westgate Primary School this week to teach pupils to stay alert near rivers, canals and the coast and what to do in an emergency.

With nearly half of accidental drownings happening between May and August, these lessons can be lifesaving.

Whether it is walking by water, paddleboarding or just taking a dip, knowing how to swim and having water safety knowledge could make all the difference in an emergency.

🔥🚒 We were called out around 18:00 last night to provide relief at the Warburtons fire in Burnley.
Our crew worked across two different sectors to help extinguish remaining fire pockets. We arrived back home station at 02:00 this morning.

The job doesn't end there though—contaminated kit has been changed and all Breathing Apparatus (BA) sets have been cleaned and tested, ready for the next call. 🧼📟👍🏻

🚒 On this special day, our crews stand ready... across the galaxy. Stay safe 📟☀️

🚒 Drill Night at Heysham Power Station 🚒
Our drill night this week took us to Heysham Power Station, where crews from Silverdale Fire Station , Morecambe Fire Station, and Bolton-le-Sands put their skills to the test.
Utilising the onsite training rig, teams took part in a realistic Breathing Apparatus (BA) exercise involving live heat and smoke. This was a fantastic opportunity for our crews to practice vital techniques and procedures in a high-pressure environment.

🔥 Incident: Fire in the Open.
Towards the end of the exercise, our Carnforth crew was mobilised to a fire in the open in the Heysham area. A small unattended fire discovered in a wooded area. Crews extinguished the fire using an aquapack.

A great night of training and a quick response to keep the community safe! 🚒💦
