👋 20–40 and fancy meeting some new people?

Making new friends as an adult can be surprisingly difficult. You might be new to the area, working from home, have friends who've moved away, or simply fancy widening your social circle.

So we're making it a little easier. ☕🍩

We're hosting a FREE Coffee & Doughnut Morning for 18–30s — a relaxed, informal chance to come along, grab a hot drink and a doughnut, and meet other people who are looking to make new friends too.

No awkward networking. No groups you need to already know. No pressure.

Come on your own — in fact, we'd really encourage it. Everyone is there for the same reason. 💛

Kendal Scavenger Hunt!

A group of us met up in Kendal yesterday. Arriving into Kendal under a shower of rain we decided we would have a coffee before starting the hunt. Once the rain had stopped we headed out and started the hunt, which combines a walk through the town with riddles, questions and photo challenges.

Not only was it lots of fun to take part, with people wondering what we were up to, we actually placed 1st!!

We then headed for a lovely lunch as triumphant winners! 🏆

Today we met up in Kendal, to take part in Cryptic Chase courtesy of Kendal Outdoor Activity Centre at Castle Green Hotel.

Orienteering through the grounds and woodland, we raced each other in teams, answering all the Cryptic clues left, finding them on our map. It was very fun!

Last week we headed to the Aquarium in Maryport, and it exceeded our expectations! With a great talk, and lots of varying sealife, it was well worth the trip. Lunch in the cafe finished the day off perfectly.

Throughout our long and storied history, we've had many well-known members. Even royalty! 👑

In his early 20s, King William IV stumbled across an Oddfellows meeting at the Feathers Pub, Pimlico. Not only did he insist on becoming a member instantly, but also the Branch’s Chairman. Who could say no to royalty? He became a lifelong member.

This week we will be starting our Summer Meadow projects, at our Crafts Club at Belah Community Centre from 11am tomorrow - where everyone can come down for a cuppa too!

Thursday we have a potential day trip to Maryport Aquariam and Maritime Museum. Departing Carlisle at 10am, meeting at 11am. Message Sam on 07483071480 for more details.

We also host Naomi Margaret Smith this Thursday as she talks to us all about the Financial world, and her experience as a financial advisor. Meeting at Cumwhinton Village Hall for 730pm, where admission is free and refreshments are available.

Next Tuesday we then head to Kendal Activities Centre for an outdoor escape room esque challenge - Cryptic Chase!

With regular coffee mornings, walks and lunches and day trips planned all summer - now is the time to meet new friends!

A glorious walk up to Orrest Head viewpoint with a lovely group of people too! Couldn't ask for more on a bright sunny day.

Following the walk we all enjoyed refreshments at Brown Sugar restaurant, which ended the morning brilliantly.

I am so excited for more days in our beautiful lakes with good friends.
