Hope you loved Halloween with your costumes made with Transition Buxton CIC , your masks made with Creeping Toad and your wands made with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust .
If you’ve used your costume for the last time then please hold on to it for now and we’ll arrange to collect them soon. The fabulous Transition Buxton sewing team want to make more costumes for you all next year so we’re hoping to be back with a 2027!

A big THANK YOU to all the fab families who came to our INSET Day in the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust Assembly Rooms . 325 of you joined us for all the fun and we loved meeting you.
How amazing are all the organisations you met; we are so grateful to them sharing their skills and knowledge to inspire us all.
You made birdboxes, bird feeders and bug hotels, Halloween costumes, masks, wands, nature spiders and pinecone bats. You studied river creatures, learnt about pondlife, peatbogs and moss. You played recycling games, borrowed Nature Explorer kits and took away reusable cups. You made the solar power and wind energy kits work and created mini EcoZines!
We loved meeting you so please stay in touch with all of us so you don’t miss out on anything we’re doing …

Families who came to yesterday met lots of the Transition Buxton project groups. (Halloween Costumes, , Renewable Energy, .)
Pop along this morning to either their in the Methodist Church on Market Place or to their Buxton Library of Things in the library on Kents Bank Road. You can just go to say hello and find out what they do, you don’t have to take anything to repair or borrow anything. You’ll see some familiar faces from yesterday and some new ones, they would love to see you again and then you’ll know where they are when you want something repaired or to borrow anything.

If you have a laptop that is more than 5 years old it is likely running on Windows 10 which is no longer supported by Microsoft. Before you consider buying a new device have a chat with the LRC team at Buxton Repair Cafe (4th Saturday of the month). They can talk you through your options and if you want they will help you update the operating system to ensure that you can continue to use the computer for years to come. Next session Sat 24 October 9:30am-1pm in the Buxton Methodist Church on the Market Place. No fees, just donate what you can afford and feel is fair.

Thank You to everyone for the today. Our 325 visitors enjoyed fantastic activities with brilliant organisations. Thank You to parents, grandparents and all the adults who brought children today. We will give our organisations special thanks over the next few days and showcase their activities, but today we want to thank our hosts, Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust , their Education Team , volunteers and other staff. The Assembly Rooms in the are a wonderful place for us to come together and celebrate our beautiful planet. It was a treat for Buxton families to focus on caring for our future in such a historic building.

Here are some great nature activities with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust,including Halloween Family Fun.
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust are one of our amazing organisations at our on INSET Day, 23rd October. They will be doing sensory nature activities and helping children whittle sticks to make their own Halloween wands to take home. More information is in the comments.
