We promote social inclusion, independance and life skills by teaching English, maths and IT in our classroom, gardening, machine maintenance, woodwork and cooking. By being part of COGS Prepares 4 Life CIO, people with a learning disability can gain skills, confidence and opportunity. We use gardening, woodwork, machine maintainance and independant living skills such as cooking and shopping as the

medium for people to gain these vocational and life skills. By being part of COGS Prepares 4 Life CIO, the gardeners become more able to socially interact, have a much higher profile in their community and feelings of self worth are raised.

Jason has put his name on his scrap book, he is going to do a project on car mechanics. He remembers helping his Father when he was young. He has also collected some marigold seedss ready for planting next spring.

We hope everyone had a nice bank holiday weekend. We are back open today with lots of great items to buy, all monies go back into the charities funds.
We are situated behind Burntwood Memorial Hall and are open Monday to Thursday from 08.30am until 2.30pm for sales and take both cash and card.
We have a large nursery and greenhouse to look around for plants and an allotment with our own grown vegetables, all grown without the use of any pesticides or chemicals, and we also have lots of woodwork items made on site by our attendees.

David and Jason spent the morning peeling and chopping Cooking apples, these have been cooked and frozen ready to bake apple pies for our attendees to enjoy.
After lunch they have collected the seeds off the fennel seed heads.
Even when the heavens open, there is plenty of jobs to do.

My self (Sean, the woodwork support worker) and John, one of our attendees, got thoroughly drenched this morning walking to work. Our office manager Carl allowed me to use the work van so that we could both go to our homes and get changed into dry clothing. Later on, Tracy, our manager, took three of our attendees to each of their homes to save them from getting soaked after we had finished and Katie from the office dropped me off at my house after work. This is the kind of caring place that we work at. ❤️

The bird tables like this one are £40. The bird boxes are £12 and the bug house £8.

James has been busy sanding and helping me with a bird table whilst Wayne has been painting a bird box to suit a customers request and also finished off three owls, one for his sister. The bird houses are available at £10.00 and the owls also at £10.00
