The 2026 Poppy Appeal launched today.
Tomorrow we will be out and about in Broseley distributing the poppies and collection tins to lots of businesses.

We don’t have enough for every shop to have one so we prioritise the locations that the majority of townsfolk frequent.

No cash - either the box or tray should have a QR code to take you to a payment link.

Can you or your organisation help for an hour or two from Saturday 25th October up to and including Remembrance Sunday 8th November.

We desperately need volunteers on both Saturdays and also help during the week and on Remembrance Sunday itself as we sadly don’t have the Army Cadets assisting this year.

You can be seated at the stall if standing is challenging for you, seated in the Spar if you need to be indoors or out and about on the High Street with tray of poppies and a tin.

Let’s make this Poppy Appeal the same great success it has been in the past.

If you can help please message the page or pop in to Handleys Stitch and we will sort out some kind of rota.

Please see attached re the Broseley Branch of the RBL.

The Poppy Appeal is run independently of the Branch and the Poppy Appeal Organiser desperatley needs assistance to man the Poppy Stall in the weekends leading up to Rememberance Sunday and on the day itself with the collections. Please message this page if you are able to assist.

I’ve recently had the figure through for Broseley Appeal efforts last year.

Broseley collected £3,767.54 which I think is most excellent! Thank you Broseley!

Good morning Broseley. I'm sorry I've not been around much, being extremely busy has meant I've not been able to dedicate much time to the Appeal. I'm hoping that will change shortly.

I've spoken with our county manager this morning and its confirmed that if you would like wreathes you will need to order them direct from the Poppy store. https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/shop/wreaths

Please do this sooner rather than later. I'll not be able to order any for you as they do not appear in my organiser shopping store.

I'd also like to ask that anyone wishing to volunteer for the appeal this year, please can you get in contact with me. Either by messaging 07309658589 and start your message with Appeal

Or by E-mail to [email protected]

Thank you.

Dave

Good morning! I'm putting out a request for any volunteers to help collect for this year’s Poppy Appeal.

Last year the people of Broseley donated £3,767.54 which neatly added in to an overall appeal total of £54.1 million! Which is incredible!

From supporting a serving person to caring for a veteran in one of the six care homes the RBL operate, every penny counts.

So, if you can spare some time during this year’s appeal, please feel free to get in contact. You can call or message on 07309658589 (it’s my work phone so please mention poppy appeal) Or you can E-mail me [email protected].

Thank you.

Dave - PAO

Anyone remember any of these vintage collection boxes?

Borrowed from another branch, a little about the history of the poppy as an emblem of remembrance.
