🌼💀 DÍA DE LOS MU***OS AT LADY FORESTER CENTRE 💀🌼

Today we’re bringing a little taste of Mexico to Lady Forester Centre as we celebrate Día de los Mu***os – the Day of the Dead! 🇲🇽🌺

Día de los Mu***os is a traditional Mexican celebration honouring and remembering loved ones who have died. Rather than being a sad occasion, it is filled with colour, music, food and happy memories, celebrating the lives of those who are no longer with us. ❤️

And in true Lady Forester style, we’ll be marking the occasion with plenty of fun! 🎉

We’re looking for someone who is confident leading a night shift and passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents.

✨ Senior Night Care Assistant
🌙 Night shifts
⏰ Minimum 34 hours per week
💷 Up to £15.02 per hour
📍 Lady Forester Centre, Broseley
🎓 Level 3 qualification or equivalent essential
💊 Experience with medication administration and supervising staff required
🧠 Experience supporting people living with dementia essential
🚗 Free on-site parking

We’re a small, friendly residential and dementia care home, and we’re looking for someone who will become a valued part of our team and help us maintain the high standards of care our residents deserve. 💜

✨ Making dreams come true! ✨

One of our wonderful wellbeing and activity coordinators Pauline has worked her magic and secured two complimentary tickets for one of our ultimate Wolves super-fans! 🐺⚽

He is absolutely thrilled and heading off to Wolverhampton to see the big Wolves v Bolton game live.

We couldn't be happier to help him support his favorite team in person.

A lovely afternoon at Bridgnorth Garden Centre

Some of out residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to Bridgnorth Garden Centre, where they spent a relaxing afternoon surrounded by beautiful plants, colourful flowers and friendly conversation. There was plenty of time to browse and admire the seasonal displays.

Sitting together for tea and cake, with lots of chatting and happy smiles. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to enjoy a change of scenery.

Everyone decided on the purchase of new plants and Joyce kindly purchased new outdoor solar lights for the residents new gazebo. How lucky are we, thank you Joyce.

A special thank you to Hilary, Peter, Joyce, Rob, Esther and Pauline for giving their time, support and kindness to make the trip possible. Your support created a memorable day for our residents and was gratefully appreciated by all who attended. 🌺💕☕️🍰

🎶 WEDNESDAY FUN AT LADY FORESTER! 🎶

What a fabulous Wednesday afternoon we had! 💜

A huge thank you to the wonderful Tom Wenlock for coming along and entertaining us. There was music, plenty of singing along, lots of smiles and, most importantly, lots of laughter! 🎤🎵😂

Our residents and Day Centre visitors had a brilliant time — judging by these photos, we think it’s safe to say Tom went down a treat! 🥰

Thank you, Tom, for bringing a little extra sparkle to our Wednesday. We absolutely loved having you! 💜

Afternoons like these are what Lady Forester is all about — good company, good music and making lovely memories together. ✨🎶💜

💀🌸 RAFFLE PRIZES NEEDED! 🌸💀

We’re getting ready for our Halloween / Day of the Dead celebrations at Lady Forester Centre and we need a little help from our wonderful friends, families and local community! 🎃🌼

We’re looking for donations of raffle prizes – big or small, we would be incredibly grateful for anything you can spare. Chocolates, toiletries, gift sets, bottles, vouchers or anything that would make a lovely prize would be very much appreciated. 🎁

Donations can be dropped off at Lady Forester Centre up until 5th October.

🎟️ Our raffle winners will be announced on 30th October at our Day of the Dead Dance! 💃💀🌺

Every donation helps us make these occasions extra special for the people we support, and we’re always so grateful for the support we receive from our local community. 💜

💜 A HUGE thank you to the team at Morris Corfield! 💜

When we needed a little help moving our not-so-little industrial tumble dryer, the brilliant team at Morris Corfield came to our rescue! 💪😂

They very kindly gave up their time completely free of charge to help us move this absolute beast into place — and somehow they’re still smiling in the photo afterwards! 🤣

We’re incredibly grateful for their time, muscle power and generosity. It really does mean so much to us as a charity when local businesses are willing to lend a hand. 💜

We promise we won’t call next week with a washing machine… probably. 👀😂

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝘄𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲?
Due to the increasing demand for our services, we urgently need volunteers in Broseley and Much Wenlock. We need car drivers to take people to their appointments and minibus drivers for our shopping and social trips. Could this be you or do you know anyone that might be interested?

Sadly, we're having to decline more and more requests to take people to, what is usually a medical appointment. We really do hate saying no. We appreciate how important it is to get the medical support needed.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that you have to dedicate a whole day or more to volunteering for us, but we don't operate like that....

Simply tell us any days you're definitely unavailable (e.g. days you might work or look after grandchildren). When we receive a request for a day you could potentially be available, we'll email you details of the journey. If you can do it, that's great! If you can't, no problem - we'll ask the next volunteer on our list.
