The weather was incredibly good to us, allowing for wonderful celebrations both inside and outside the hall. We were absolutely thrilled to see so many Scotties (and their four-legged friends!) accompanied by their wonderful pawrents and families. Everyone was in high spirits and having a brilliant time.

STECS 50th Anniversary Summer Party!
Join us as we celebrate 50 incredible years of Scottish Terrier rescue, community, and compassion. This golden milestone deserves a truly joyful gathering — and we’d love you to be part of it.

Could your STECS Scottie be one of the stars of the STECS 2027 Calendar?

We’re on the lookout for our next set of models — adopted STECS Scotties who’d love to feature in our 2027 calendar. Your Scottie can shine solo or pose with their adopted brothers, sisters, or four‑legged friends.

We’re aiming to capture all seasons, so feel free to send photos taken throughout the year.

📌 A few helpful house rules:

Photos can be taken on your mobile phone . Most mobile phones take perfect-quality shots. Landscape or Portrait.

Think about your surroundings — a tiny Scottie in a huge empty field won’t quite make the cut. Look back in your phone album. Do you have any sessional pics you would like to send us.

Natural action shots are especially welcome.

Please do not crop or photoshop your photos, as this reduces resolution.

A maximum of two photos per entry, ideally taken in different months.

Email your photos to [email protected] along with your name and your STECS Scottie’s name.

🎉 STECS 50th Anniversary Lunch – Join Us in London! 🐾

We’re delighted to invite you to a very special celebration of 50 years of STECS at the prestigious Royal Kennel Club, 10 Clarges Street, London, W1J 8AB, on Friday 17th April 2026.

🥗 Buffet Lunch: Served at 12.45pm

🎨 Art Gallery: Open for you to revisit at your leisure after lunch

Scottish Terrier Longitudinal Health Survey

6-7 years ago at a STECS Garden Party, a health survey was distributed for owners to fill out. The researchers at the University of Nottingham are looking to do a follow up survey on these dogs. If you recall attending this event and filling out the survey for your Scotties, please can you comment or message me so I can send you the survey link? We need the follow up to get a better picture of the health of the breed in the UK and would appreciate as many responses as possible. This includes dogs that have sadly passed away as knowing what happened to them will still be of huge benefit to the breed. The survey is confidential and details of individual dogs and owners are not viewed during analysis.

Scottish Terrier Liver & Bladder Screening Day

As the Scottish Terrier Breed Health Coordinator in the UK, I have been in communication with a vet from the Willows Veterinary Centre in Solihull about the possibility of running an abdominal ultrasound screening day for the liver and bladder for Scottish Terriers. The aim is to screen healthy dogs aged 5 and up to catch any changes to the liver and bladder early for better treatment outcomes. If owners are happy to consent to findings being used in research, it will also give us a much better picture of the liver and bladder health of Scottish Terriers in the UK.
