A beautiful colour photograph of our very own 'Sybil' and Quarry Hunslet 'George B' captured at Gilfach Ddu in 1957. Photo by Jim Fraser.

'George B' is also preserved and operational, and can be found on the wonderful Bala Lake Railway.

The Bagnall Bank Holiday starts tomorrow!!

From the 23rd to the 25th May, the WLLR, Amerton and Apedale railways will all be running their resident Bagnall locomotives over this 3 day weekend - giving you the opportunity to ride behind Isabel, Woto, and of course our very own Sybil!

Please support these three amazing narrow gauge railways this weekend, and make sure you plan a visit to see our very own Sybil over the weekend! 😊

Make sure you come and ride behind our very own Bagnall 'Sybil' here at the West Lancashire Light Railway during this exciting "Bagnall Bank Holiday" weekend on the 23rd, 24th & 25th May 2026!

But be sure to visit our friends at both the Amerton and Apedale railways too, who will be running their Bagnall engines 'Isabel' and 'Woto' respectively over the weekend. 😊
