As Israel’s premier social services organisation, Manna - Meir Panim is fighting the poverty crisis in Israel.

Over 2 million Israelis live below the poverty line, equivalent to nearly 25% of the total population. Last year we provided over 1 million meals including ten times the clients’ receiving meals on wheels (home delivery). In summary, last year we also provided:

15,000 Food packages prepared for families and meals on wheels delivered to the elderly

4,718 Food Shopping Cards distributed before fes

With a bomb shelter nearby for safety, our volunteers are still preparing and delivering food to those who need it most.

🎭 LAST FEW HOURS OF PURIM

Purim is nearly over.

Across Israel, families have been celebrating between sirens — moving in and out of shelters, checking their phones for updates, trying to create moments of normality in the middle of war.

Purim is meant to be loud and joyful.
This year, it has also been fragile.

At Manna, we’re making sure that hundreds of vulnerable people are still able to celebrate — with mishloach manos, fresh hamantaschen, and a warm festive meal prepared with care, despite the rockets and uncertainty.
These aren’t just food deliveries. They’re reminders that even now — especially now — our community shows up for one another.

🗣️ “Every day, I wake up and ask myself the same question: how can I possibly survive?”

Yulia came to Israel from Siberia in the 1990s with hopes for a better future. Losing her husband changed everything. Despite working her whole life, she now has to navigate the world alone with a state pension that isn’t enough to both buy food and pay the
bills.
