At Age Concern Bracknell Forest, we're looking for a caring and compassionate individual to join our wonderful Day Centre team as a Care Support Worker.

If you're looking for a role where you can genuinely make a difference every day, this could be the perfect opportunity.

We're looking for someone with care experience, ideally including dementia experience, who shares our passion for helping older people live well, stay connected and enjoy life.

📍 17 hours per week
📅 Tuesday 12pm–4pm
📅 Wednesday 12pm–4pm
📅 Thursday 11am–4pm
📅 Friday 12pm–4pm

What a fantastic afternoon at our Bullbrook Community Group on Friday! 🎶✨

A huge thank you to the fabulous Russell from Hijinx, who brought so much energy, laughter and fun to the group. Our members had a wonderful time, and it’s always amazing to see the difference live entertainment can make.

We are incredibly grateful to performers like Russell who generously give their time to help create special moments and bring people together. Your kindness and enthusiasm are truly appreciated. 💙

Missed out? Russell will be joining us again at our Tea Dance at Bucklers Park Hub on Friday 10th July – and there are still tickets available!

Our next Community Group takes place this Friday at St Paul’s Church, 11am–1pm. We’d love to see you there!

❤️ As Volunteer week ends - A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Incredible Volunteers ❤️

At Age Concern Bracknell Forest, we simply couldn't do what we do without our amazing volunteers.

Every day, throughout our charity and across our community, volunteers give their time, energy, kindness and compassion to help make life better for others. Whether they're supporting our day centre members, helping at community groups and events, assisting with everyday tasks, serving refreshments, offering a friendly smile and conversation, supporting fundraising activities, helping behind the scenes, or lending a hand wherever it's needed, every single contribution matters.

What makes our volunteers so special isn't just the tasks they undertake—it's the care, warmth and humanity they bring to everything they do. They help reduce loneliness, build friendships, create opportunities, support independence and bring joy to so many people throughout Bracknell Forest and beyond.

The impact of volunteering reaches far beyond the hours given. A chat over a cup of tea can brighten someone's entire week. A helping hand can restore confidence. A welcoming smile can make someone feel valued, included and remembered.

🌧️ Friendship & Footsteps at Lily Hill Park 🌳

Despite the weather, we had a brilliant turnout for today’s Friendship & Footsteps walk! A huge thank you to everyone who wrapped up and joined us for a morning of fresh air, friendly faces, and great conversation.

As always, a special thank you to John from the Parks & Countryside Team. His knowledge of our local green spaces is truly incredible, and he never fails to share fascinating facts that make each walk even more enjoyable.

We were also delighted to be joined by JD from Involve. Thank you for your support – it’s always wonderful to connect with other local organisations that help strengthen our community.

📅 Our next Friendship & Footsteps walk will take place on Wednesday 1st July at South Hill Park. We’ll be meeting at 10:30am on the terrace to the rear of the park!

We’re delighted to share our upcoming Weekend Lunch Club dates and menus for July–September!
Join us and up to 16 of our members for a delicious two-course hot lunch, prepared and cooked by our wonderful community team.

Enjoy great food, service with a smile, and the chance to socialise with others in a warm, friendly and welcoming environment. It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon and connect with your community. 💛

🌿 A Wonderful Day at Painshill Park 🌿

As part of our community outings, we enjoyed a fantastic trip to the beautiful Painshill — and what a lovely day it was!

From peaceful walks through the stunning grounds to exploring the fascinating caves and hidden pathways, there was something for everyone to enjoy. The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, and it was wonderful to spend time together, sharing conversations, laughter, and plenty of fresh air along the way 💛

These outings are such a special opportunity to connect, explore new places, and create lasting memories together. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so enjoyable!
