SPRING Support SPRING (Supporting Parents and Relatives Through Baby Loss) We are also here to support bereaved parents through subsequent pregnancies. We are based at St.

SPRING offers support for baby loss that occurs at any stage of pregnancy, at or just after birth – whatever the circumstances and however long ago. Our services include: emotional and practical support at the point of loss; professional counselling; open support meetings for parents and relatives; befriending; and ways to remember your babies. In 2014 we opened the SPRING Moon and Star bereavement suites, providing a dedicated space to meet the needs of bereaved families. SPRING is run by a committee made up of bereaved parents, relatives and caring, committed professionals – all of whom are passionate about SPRING and matters surrounding baby loss. We ensure that bereaved parents and families are treated with sensitivity and genuine care. Mary’s Maternity Unit at Poole Hospital and cover Bournemouth, Poole and surrounding areas. A gentle reminder: The SPRING Wave of Light event is taking place tomorrow, Thursday 15 October 2026. 🕯️

We will join the global Wave of Light event with a special ceremony in Poole Park. We invite bereaved parents, relatives and families to join us by listening to some gentle readings, listening to music and lighting candles to remember babies gone too soon.

Lanterns and candles will be available on the day, and we encourage people to reuse their items from previous years where possible.

As Baby Loss Awareness Week comes to an end, we invite bereaved parents, relatives and families to join us for an evening of remembrance at Poole Park. There will be gentle readings and music, and at 7pm, we will join in the global Wave of Light tradition by lighting candles to remember babies gone too soon.

Lanterns and candles will be available on the day, and we encourage people to reuse their items from previous years where possible.

During Baby Loss Awareness Week, Abbi and Jack will be walking 10km alongside friends and colleagues from Hillside Vets in memory of their son, Elliot, while raising funds to support families affected by baby loss. Abbi has also set herself the incredible challenge of walking 300,000 steps throughout October as part of their fundraising efforts. 👟

Today marks the beginning of Baby Loss Awareness Week. We are holding in our thoughts parents, families and relatives who have been touched by baby loss. 🌸💙

For some, this week is an opportunity to remember and honour their much loved baby. For others, the increased conversation around baby loss can feel especially difficult and bring grief closer to the surface.

On Saturday 10 October, during Baby Loss Awareness Week, Abbi and Jack will be walking 10km alongside friends and colleagues from Hillside Vets in memory of Elliot, while raising funds for SPRING. SPRING is a dedicated service, funded by University Hospitals Dorset NHS Charity, that provides support to parents and families who have experienced baby loss. 🌸💙

Abbi and Jack said the “genuine empathy, kindness and support” they received from University Hospitals Dorset NHS staff and SPRING meant “more than we can put into words” as they navigated the “most heartbreaking experience” of their lives. By raising funds for SPRING, they hope to help other families facing baby loss receive the same compassionate care and support that meant so much to them.
