We are extremely proud to announce that our live singer at this years Christmas Black Tie Event is the one and only Lauren Fisher all the way from West Wales and there are still a few tickets remaining and a large number of supporters have been asking us about this year's Christmas Black Tie Event so here are the details.
The Charity Ball will be held on The 12th of December in The Plantation Suite of The Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth.
We have managed to keep the costs down to £65 per person or £600 for a table of 10 which is the same as last years.
Payment in full will secure your place at The Charity Ball.
Payment can only be accepted direct to our charity bank account and please drop an email to [email protected] so we can send you menus as well as updates. No other forms of communication can be accepted and no reserving of places will be taken.
This event always sells out with a four course meal, live entertainment and a disco as well as the traditional Auction and Raffle.
Refunds will only be issued in exceptional circumstances and we would strongly advise booking asap to avoid disappointment.
We love seeing so many of our supporters celebrating the work we carry out as volunteers so come and relax with us and have an enjoyable evening. This is everyone's last chance to get your tickets as ticket sales will end very soon. We have some of the best surprises for our guests this year and you really do not want to miss this.
Those that have bought tickets have all been emailed your menus so please send them back ASAP.
We can only carry out the voluntary work because of support for events like this so please help us to help those that need it. Thankyou

Helping Homeless Veterans UK are pleased to hear that the Government has announced more money in the drive to end rough sleeping in our country

Any money from Central Government towards ending this scourge on our nation should be welcomed by everyone however the support must be put in place to identify the issues and cause of Homelessness in our country to prevent the homeless ending up back on the streets and offering free hair cuts etc is simply not going to work.

This money must go to the right places and not just thrown at organisations where its wrapped up in overheads and wages. Our charity trustees will work on looking after homeless veterans however after 7yrs we are still yet to see a single penny from Westminster or The Welsh Senedd and after housing nearly 600 veterans and helping over 900 we pray for a miracle and its not through the want of trying 🙏

Downing Street will allocate a further £432m in this week’s budget, bringing total funding for finding a ‘lasting solution’ to nearly £900m

The Trustees of Helping Homeless Veterans UK would like to publicly state the following about our Social Media Policies and Procedures.

Our Charity is solely set up to Help and Support Veterans who are Street Homeless, Sofa Surfing or Living in Temporary Accommodation. We also provide an advocacy service as well as providing prevention measures and welfare support to prevent any Veteran of HM Armed Forces from becoming Homeless.
We do not house Boat People, Illegal Immigrants or Refugees and comparing Homeless Veterans to these individuals has absolutely no bearing on our Voluntary Work and we simply delete comments and block individuals who use our platforms for this. There are plenty of groups out there where you can type to your hearts content but ours I'd not one of them.
We work very closely with The MOD and The Office for Veterans Affairs. If anyone has an issue with Boat People, Illegal Immigrants or Refugees then please take it up with The Home Office.
Our social media platforms are to help raise awareness of the Voluntary work we carry out as well as garnering support and letting the public know where your donations are spent.

This year's festival is being jointly organised with Aberafan Shopping Centre, with all exhibitors located on the ground floor, giving organisations even greater visibility and allowing visitors to enjoy everything the event has to offer in one vibrant location.

Helping Homeless Veterans UK are proud to bring you our Friday Update for all of our supporters.

This week we said goodbye to another veteran at The Talbot Mews who has left us after coming to us with the clothes on his back and living in his car. This veteran a year later is now engaged to be married and in full time secure employment.

We welcomed our 71yr old Royal Signals Veteran from Oxford to The Talbot Mews where he has settled in extremely well and is so grateful for the support he is receiving straight away from our charity.

We have worked with a Veteran in Reading where we have had her banding under priority need upgraded so they can now successfully bid on properties with a better chance of securing one. Our knowledge of legislation every year helps so many Veterans behind the scenes of Social Media.

Our end of year accounts have been submitted to our charity accountants by our Charity Bookkeeper and we will submit them to The Charity Commission when completed.

We are currently facing unprecedented demand on our services with 4 cases on average coming through from our website and we are keeping a very close eye on this situation as funds coming in are no where close to funds going out and as an example we have spent £9300 this week and had an income of £2800 and with no money being offered by central government its going to be a bleak winter unfortunately.

We are still looking for people to attend our Christmas Black Tie Event in Bournemouth as well as participants joining us on next year's Severn Bridge Challenge 2027 which will be our 7th event. All details can be found at https://hhvuk.org/events.html

Our Christmas Appeal was launched this week and is set up using Text Giving. Please support us so we can support those that reach out to us.

We have been offered a procurement opportunity with Basingstoke Council worth £1.65 million over 3yrs and we are currently delving further into this. This offer follows on from the £2.8 million contract to run Op Fortitude last November in Gloucester, Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset which we turned down. This shows recognition of the voluntary work we are carrying out in The Veterans Community and we are extremely proud as our achievements speak for themselves.

Helping Homeless Veterans UK as volunteers work in one of the most difficult and complex areas of Veterans Welfare and as a Registered Charity in England and Wales we also deal with some of the most difficult cases.
We have always stated that we can only help Veterans that are prepared to help themselves and some outcomes are superb and others not so good unfortunately but we also understand that we can't help every veteran.
Attached is a perfect example of the work we carry out for our veterans and the success that can be achieved when veterans work with us.
This veteran has given full permission for us to share this email sent to our founder yesterday however we never divulge names or photos to protect each case we deal with.
We are extremely proud of this veteran who has come such a long way and whilst we may have our detractors we also have a huge amount of support which we are so grateful for.
