We provide a range of services, training and support for voluntary and community organisations and will represent your view on the networks we attend. We can offer help with:
- Setting up a new group
- Constitutions and charity law
- Finding funding
- Personnel issues
- Polices and procedures
- Publicity and marketing
- Quality standards

Become a member . . . Membership of Voluntary Action Arun and Chichester free and is open to voluntary and community groups and statutory organisations working within Chichester and Arun Districts. As well as the services and support mentioned, members are entitled to:

Supporting local organisations to turn ideas into action.

VAAC was pleased to support Transition Town Chichester in sourcing funding to help make the recent “Surviving a Food Crisis – Who is Responsible Locally?” conference possible.

Held in Chichester, the event brought together speakers, local organisations and members of the community to explore food resilience, local food systems and how communities can prepare for future challenges.

It’s a great example of what can happen when local groups are supported to access the resources they need to bring people together, start important conversations and create positive change.

Well done to Transition Town Chichester and everyone involved in making the day happen.

Celebrating the people making a difference in our communities.

Our AGM brought members, volunteers, trustees, funders and partners together to share stories of impact and celebrate the charities and community groups working across Arun, Chichester and Sussex.

A special thank you to Jess Brown-Fuller, MP for Chichester, for joining us and speaking, and to everyone who contributed to the day.

An incredible show of community support for women's safety!

A huge congratulations to VAAC member It’s Run By Her and founder Sophie Allmark for organising another fantastic Glow-Up Walk, Run or Jog event in Bognor Regis!

The event brought the community together to raise awareness of women's safety, particularly the harassment and intimidation women and girls can experience when out running or exercising.

Through their Safer Steps campaign, It’s Run By Her is helping to create real change, encouraging important conversations and campaigning for safer public spaces.

With more than 350 people attending last year's event and up to 600 expected this year, it's inspiring to see how much support this important initiative has gained.

We're incredibly proud to have It’s Run By Her as a VAAC member and to celebrate the difference they're making in our local community.

Well done to Sophie, the team and everyone who came together to support such an important cause!

Our Community Connectors Walking Group recently enjoyed a wonderful trip to Crimsham Farm.

It was a lovely opportunity for the group to get out into the countryside, spend time together, meet the animals and enjoy a shared experience – and we were very lucky with the weather too!

A huge thank you to Shane and the team at Crimsham Farm for giving the group such a warm welcome and making the visit so enjoyable.

Community is about connection, and days like this are a great reminder of how valuable it can be to get outdoors, try something different and enjoy time with others.

Are you a woman living in a rural or coastal community in the Arun district?

Researchers at King’s College London would like to hear from women about their experiences of work and how new technology and AI are changing jobs in our local communities.

They are particularly interested in hearing from women aged 18+ who currently work, or have recently worked, in lower paid or insecure roles such as:

Care
Retail
Hospitality
Cleaning
Food or delivery work
Or similar roles

Taking part involves a relaxed 45–60 minute online conversation at a time that suits you. There’s no preparation needed, and everything shared will be confidential and anonymised.

Participants will also receive a One4All gift voucher as a thank you for their time.

Thinking about a new career in health and social care?

Get Set UK is offering a FREE, fully funded 8-week Adult Care Skills Bootcamp for adults aged 19+ living in West Sussex.

The course is designed to help you become job-ready and includes practical training, recognised certificates and a guaranteed job interview at the end.

The course runs 2–3 days a week, from 9.30am–2.30pm, making it easier to fit around school hours and other commitments.

There is no cost to take part.
