Thank you to Chichester Fire Station for having us yesterday and for the fantastic demonstration!

It's Volunteers Week! This week we'll be sharing some of the ways our fantastic volunteers support us here at West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service.

Today our volunteer Richard is at Chichester Fire Station helping the crew welcome a group from The Point in Chichester which supports adults with disabilities.

Richard said: "What I particularly like about being a volunteer is the variety of tasks you get involved in. Everything from speaking to road users, vulnerable people, children, students, pretty much everyone in the community.

"You never finish a job without making a difference and you could save a life. Working as part of a team is great too, whether it’s other volunteers, fire crews, or other blue light services - it's got to be the best way to volunteer!"

A great addition to Littlehampton seafront!

Councillors Billy Blanchard-Cooper and Amanda Worne joined council officers to visit to the new accessible beach huts on Littlehampton seafront. The walkway is now in place and the three beach huts will soon be ready to hire so watch this space! Full details to follow soon.
