Community Voices in Action: Blooms & Beats🌸 🎶

What happens when you bring together music, movement and community spirit?

Thanks to funding from our Community Voices Fund, Nurturefy CIC and Wandering women joined forces to deliver Blooms & Beats, bringing residents together through silent discos and a community celebration.

🎤 We caught up with the teams to hear about their project, the people they met and the conversations they sparked.

This is the first in our series spotlighting the brilliant local projects supported through the Community Voices Fund.

❤️ Your Neighbourhood, Your Voice – Layton! ❤️

And that's a wrap! 🎉🙌

What an amazing journey we've had bringing our Your Neighbourhood, Your Voice project to life!

Over the past few weeks, we've been out and about in Layton, chatting with local people, listening to their stories, hearing what they love about their neighbourhood and finding out what they'd like to see change.

We've loved every minute of it! ❤️

From conversations in the community to our celebration event today, it's been wonderful bringing people together, sharing ideas and giving everyone the opportunity to have their say.

One thing that's really stood out to us is just how much people care about Layton. There's so much to celebrate, so many wonderful people and some brilliant ideas for making the neighbourhood even better.

A HUGE thank you to the Pride in Place Community Voices team, and especially Luke, for all the support, encouragement and enthusiasm throughout this project. You've been fantastic! ❤️

And of course, thank you to everyone who's stopped for a chat, shared their thoughts, got involved or joined us today. Every conversation matters, and every voice deserves to be heard.

🌿💚 Kindness creates kindness... and sometimes it starts with a garden.

Continuing our Adam appreciation week 😂 we wanted to share some of the lovely messages we've received recently.

Because what Adam does is about so much more than cutting grass, pulling weeds and tidying gardens.

It's about giving someone back a space they can enjoy. Taking away a worry that's become overwhelming. Turning up without judgement, having a chat and making someone feel that little bit better about life. 💚

We often talk about the difference small acts of kindness can make, but hearing it in people's own words really brings it home.

And the best bit? That kindness has a ripple effect. People feel supported, they feel valued, and they want to pass that kindness on.

That's what Nurturefy is all about. 🌱

So here's to Adam, who probably thinks he's just been doing a bit of gardening. 😂💚

Happy 50th Birthday to our wonderful Adam 🥰

I think we can all agree that he is the most hardworking and compassionate gardener on the Fylde.

We appreciate you and hope your big birthday is full of love and laughter. 🎉🎊

What a gorgeous day of wreath making 🌿🍂

Just look at them! 😍 Every single wreath was completely unique, and they all looked absolutely amazing. We love seeing how everyone starts with the same table of materials and somehow creates something entirely their own.

A huge thank you to the Eric Wright Charitable Trust, whose support has helped us make these sessions more affordable and accessible. 💚

It feels especially lovely (and a little emotional!) because these are our final two sessions at our current studio.

But we're definitely not slowing down… 👀

The support we've received through this grant, and others this year, has helped give us the confidence to pursue something much bigger, and we're so excited to finally say that Nurturefy is expanding. 🌱

We'll be doing more of what we love, reaching more people and working across Lancashire with some VERY exciting things happening behind the scenes right now.

This little studio has been the starting point for so much, but we're ready for the next chapter. 🥹💚

🪩🎧 LAYTON… YOU BROUGHT THE VIBES! 💃🌸

What a brilliant evening we had taking our Silent Disco out and about around Layton! Music on, headphones on, glow sticks glowing and plenty of questionable dance moves along the way 😂

A HUGE thank you to Wandering women for bringing the energy, the laughs and the vibes — you were fabulous as always. 💃🎧

Thank you to Layton Methodist for staying open late for us and giving us such a warm welcome. ❤️

And a special shout-out to our wonderful Nurturefy directors Adam and Kim, who held the fort at our gazebo while we were off dancing! They spent the evening chatting to people, listening to the voices of those who live in, work in and use Layton, and hearing what people would like to see for their community. 🌱
To Donna Hannigan for capturing shenanigans on camera, and let's not forget our wonderful Cheryl on torch and flower duty 🌸

We also popped into businesses across Layton with some little bouquets 🌸, introducing ourselves, talking about Pride in Place Layton & Grange Park and encouraging local businesses to have their say too.

Thank you to every business that welcomed us in, every person who stopped for a chat, everyone who shared their thoughts — and everyone who joined us for a dance!

This is what community engagement can look like: getting out there, having conversations, bringing people together and having a bit of fun while we're doing it. 💚
