Sometimes, a break for a young carer isn’t just time away… it’s a chance to feel like themselves again.
Over the summer, we supported a group of young carers to take a few days away from their usual responsibilities. They spent time outdoors, tried new activities, made friends, and simply enjoyed being young.
When they returned home, parents told us they noticed real changes - their children seemed happier, more relaxed, and more like themselves again. One parent shared that their child was even encouraging them to spend more time together as a family.
If your child is helping to care for someone at home, you might not always think of them as a 'carer'… but support like this can make a real difference for the whole family.
💜 You’re not alone, and support is available if you'd like to find out more.
