⚠️ IMPORTANT UPDATE – YOUTH WORK TRAINING COURSE CANCELLED ⚠️
Due to the adverse weather forecast, with wind speeds expected to reach up to 45 mph during our scheduled training, alongside the cancellation of trams and buses, we have made the decision to cancel tomorrow’s Youth Work Training Course.
This decision has not been taken lightly, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. However, the safety of our staff and learners is paramount, and we believe this is the most responsible decision under the circumstances.
📅 The Youth Work Training Course will now commence on 14th November.

Following the momentum of last year’s conference, we’re bringing together young people, practitioners, educators and partners from across the Fylde Coast and beyond for another day of honest conversation, shared learning and practical action.

This year, delegates can expect thought-provoking speakers, interactive workshops, opportunities to hear directly from young people, and space to explore some of the biggest issues affecting boys and young men today.

We’ll also be shining a spotlight on the Fylde Coast Boys Impact Hub, building stronger connections between the people and organisations working to improve outcomes for boys and young men across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

Coastal Social Action Grants Programme

We're delighted to launch the Coastal Social Action Grants Programme, offering grants of £3,000 – £25,000 to support organisations across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre to work alongside young people in designing and leading meaningful social action projects.

Supported by The Movement, The National Lottery Community Fund and Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, this programme will invest in projects that respond directly to the priorities, experiences and ideas of local young people.

We want to support projects that:
Put young people at the heart of decision-making
Build confidence, wellbeing, leadership and transferable skills
Create positive change within local communities
Strengthen youth voice and influence
Recognise young people as active citizens and changemakers

Projects must align with at least one of the following themes selected by our youth panel:

Wellbeing – Happiness, Sport & Health
Education & Learning
Crime & Safety
Environment
Lack of Support Services

Youth involvement is essential. Successful applications will demonstrate how young people will actively shape and influence the project at every stage.

Funding available: £3,000 – £25,000
Must be based in Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre

Training opportunity!

UYA have the rare opportunity of 20 funded places for our Level 2 Youth Work Award being carried out face to face at our centre in Blackpool.

This course is suitable for new volunteers, part time youth workers or individuals who are relatively new to working with young people in different settings i.e. youth offending service, local youth organisations, those new to a youth support role or just starting out on youth work.

The following units will be covered:

Welcome and introduction to the course.

Theory of Youth Work
Young People’s Development
Safeguarding in a youth work setting
Engaging and communicating with young people
