💙🏛️ A very special afternoon at Blackpool Town Hall!
What a wonderful experience and an absolute privilege to be invited to Blackpool Town Hall for a special afternoon with The Worshipful the Mayor of Blackpool, Councillor Danny Scott, and the Mayoress, Councillor Michele Scott.
Representing Together We Can Do were our member Kieran, his lovely mum Amanda, Jo Quinnell and Michelle, and what a fantastic morning we had!
We had the opportunity to hear about the incredible work being delivered by so many local charities and community organisations, whilst also sharing the story of Together We Can Do and the difference our members are making.
It was particularly lovely to hear the Mayor’s interest in our recent awards and recognition, and how much he enjoyed our Pan Disability Games! 💙🏆
We were then treated to a brilliant performance from an incredibly talented young singer, followed by a wonderful singalong with the Alzheimer’s dementia group. 🎶
Afterwards, we made our way into the beautiful Mayor’s Parlour for tea, biscuits and the opportunity to chat and connect with some amazing people.
It was lovely to share the afternoon with other amazing charities Empowerment Elliot’s Place and Solace), Homeward Bound, N-Vision sight loss charity, Alzheimer's Society, Blackpool Polar Bears, of Jubilee Gardens (Gynn) and Come Cook With Us all working hard to support our communities.
💙 What made this afternoon especially meaningful was the opportunity for our members to represent Together We Can Do.
As we continue to raise our profile, celebrate our achievements and showcase the incredible work of our charity, we hope to open even more doors for our members to become ambassadors, champion inclusion, share their experiences and take the lead.
Together We Can Do is about so much more than sport and physical activity. It’s about building confidence, creating opportunities and ensuring people with disabilities are seen, heard and valued in their communities. And who better to champion our charity than the members who make it so special? 💙
A huge thank you to the Mayor and Mayoress, and everyone involved, for such a warm welcome and a memorable afternoon.
