The Springfield Project The Springfield Project is a safe and welcoming space where people from diverse backgrounds from our community can meet together and receive support.

The Springfield Project developed from St Christopher's Church's vision for supporting families in the local area and wishing to share God's love in our community. We work in partnership with Birmingham City Council to deliver children's centre services providing activities and support for families with children under 5. We also have a social housing project called Raising the Roof which houses six local families. We run an Opening Doors programme which supports local people back in to work, and helps them with learning English as well. Additionally we are developing The Springfield Neighbour Scheme to support the wellbeing of local people, in partnership with local GPs. The Springfield Project's strapline "God's love in our Community" is achieved through our aims:

* To provide relevant community services to families and children in Springfield.
* To provide a community focus; open, welcoming and accepting of everyone.
* To cross social and cultural barriers engaging this diverse community.
* To promote understanding and the common good in our community.
* To support family relationships.

📅 Today, October 9, marks the first-ever National Early Years SENCO Day.

We want to give a huge shout out to our wonderful nursery SENCOs, Sabihah and Anisa! 🌟

💚 Every day, Early Years SENCOs help children feel seen, heard and supported. They work closely with families, guide colleagues and help create environments where every child feels valued and able to flourish.

📚 Their impact is often felt long after a child leaves their care. Because of their dedication, children gain confidence, families feel reassured and colleagues feel supported to deliver high-quality inclusive practice.

Place of Welcome is one of the adult activities offered by The Springfield Project.

Every Thursday, everyone comes together to enjoy a warm welcome, friendly conversation and a range of activities, including knitting, board games and chair exercises, followed by a hot meal together. These sessions help build friendships, reduce loneliness and strengthen our community.

🍂🍁 Autumn Sensory Fun at our nursery 🍁🍂

Our little Buds have been immersing themselves in the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of autumn through sensory play! From crunching colourful leaves and exploring natural treasures to scooping, pouring, and creating autumn masterpieces, the children have been developing their curiosity and imagination every step of the way. 🧡

Sensory experiences help support language, creativity, fine motor skills, and confidence, all while having lots of fun! We love seeing the children engage with nature and discover the wonders of the changing season. 🍃🌰✨

❤️ World Heart Day at School Readiness Stay and Play! ❤️ Startwell

We had a lovely World Heart Day session, with fun activities for children and a healthy eating workshop for parents. We talked about keeping our hearts healthy by being active with 180 Katie and enjoying healthy foods with Fay 5 a Day. 🍎🥦💗
