* EIGHT YEARS OF INJUSTICE *

For eight-years a Scottish born Sikh has been arbitrarily imprisoned in India. Today marks eight-years to the day since Jagtar Singh Johal was kidnapped by plain-clothed men and ended up in a jail cell in Punjab.

Jagtar Singh Johal was a respected sevadaar known for work documenting the Sikh genocide of the 80s/90s. He went to Punjab to be married in 2017 and ended up as yet another Sikh political prisoner of India.

Sikh groups across the globe remain focused on his case. His image is regularly raised at Sikh protests and vigils the world over. He is seen as a modern diaspora example of India's longtime targeting of Sikhs.

After eight-years, The Sikh Press Association remain dedicated to covering his plight, as we have since day one.
