Meet Paul, who is one of our fantastic Youth Leaders. He has participated in the Wirral Coastal walk every year for the last 17 or 18 years, several of which he has taken young people along the route with him to help raise awareness and money for our organisation. Thank you for your efforts Paul- your dedication is much appreciated.

Defib’s are a vital piece of equipment and can be the difference in helping someone in a cardiac arrest,

Please check they are working properly. Follow the link below if you have any questions.

Defibrillators can save lives, but only if they’re working.

This Check Your Defib Week (15-21 June) we’re encouraging all Defib Guardians to help save more lives by ensuring their device is rescue-ready and accurately listed on The Circuit.

St John Ambulance Wirral were out and about this Sunday supporting the Wirral Bikeathon, by the amazing people from the The UTS Foundation and Underground Training Station that took place at Arrowe Country Park. The volunteers were on hand to ensure that any participants or spectators that should require any assistance were well
looked after.

The Bikeathon offered two distances to accommodate different ages and cycling abilities, 13 or 26 miles, with both routes taking the cyclists through the Wirral’s countryside and along the Coastline, raising crucial funds for cancer patients through the UTS Foundation.

For part two of Saturday, we spent the evening at Birkenhead Park for the first Water Lantern Festival and was one of three taking place today with others in Toledo, Ohio and Buenos Aires, Argentina. This included live music and more food options. This was a very chilled event with a picnic type atmosphere while people came together to chat, share there stories and make their personalised water lanterns which were later released in a moving moment down at the Lower Lake by the Roman Boathouse in Birkenhead park. The lake was designed by Joseph Paxton and was made to feel endless with its winding edges. The lanterns looked amazing in the dark filling the water with their light and personal messages of hope and Remembrance.

We also had the opportunity to meet some owls including a lovely white barn owl with one of the volunteers.

Happy Volunteers week from St John Ambulance Wirral. We thank all people that give up their time to help others no matter what role or organisation you give your time to help.

Here at St John Wirral, we help clinically at events, though you do not need to be ill or injured to need help or support, we are there for anyone who needs assistance.

We deliver talks and first aid sessions to organisations and groups to ensure that first aid knowledge is available to all, and that no-one should suffer for the lack of first aid knowledge.

St John also has young people with Badgers from age 5 till 9 and Cadets from 10 till 17, who learn life skills and first aid, supported by adult youth leaders.

There are also multiple other roles within St John, supporting people in many ways from recruitment, to training, from communications to logistics, from Priory to Fellowship, we are all there to support each other.

A huge thank you to you all 👏
