This years Spring cleaning has rolled into early summer - it's been a big one! We have found all sorts of items that we have no need for, and what better solution than a car boot?

We are looking for someone to sell our items at a car boot sale. The money generated will directly feed back into the support we offer for the local population of people experiencing homelessness. We aren't asking that you dedicate the whole day to our cause, but if you are already looking to run a car boot sale and you're happy to sell our items too alongside your own, do reach out!

Local and Community History Month: Birkenhead style!

May is the dedicated time to celebrate local heritage - and we are so proud to have been a key part of the history of Birkenhead since 1874!

Did you know:

1874: The YMCA movement was established in Birkenhead.

1892: CJ Proctor, president of Birkenhead YMCA, introduced basketball to England for the first time after returning from Canada.

World War I & II: Actively supported troops, accommodating refugee survivors, and aiding soldiers from Cammell Laird shipyard.

1962: The Beatles played their only show at the Whetstone Lane building on the 8th of September.

We may have evolved as an organisation, but our values remain the same. We recognise the individual skills, gift and talents of everyone we work with, and help them identify their skills, interests, and aspirations.

Since 2007, we have fulfilled this through our work with the community of those experiencing homelessness, but our presence in Birkenhead has remained just as strong 💪

You might think of us, and only think of our hostel for those experiencing homelessness, but actually - we operate several lower level supported houses for those ready to take the next step toward independent living.

At Moreton Hills Golf Centre we had an amazing day at the driving range with the residents of one of these houses - and it won't be forgotten any day soon!
