If you would smash a car door in because you saw a dog inside panting in these temperatures.... why wouldn't you smash a hutch door in and get a rabbit out? The principle is the same. ๐ฅต๐ฅต
The difference is lack of empathy for rabbits. And the lack of empathy towards rabbits in this country is astounding.
Rabbits left outside in hutches or sheds WILL die this weekend. So if you know of someone with a rabbit out in a wooden box, tell them to get that rabbit to safety before they have blood on their hands.
In the wild rabbits are deep in their burrows underground during the day, keeping cool. Your rabbits cannot sweat, or take their fur coats off. Instead they lie silently, baking alive as their gut slows down and their vital organs shut down.
Temperatures over 25ยฐC can be fatal to a rabbit. And here we have rabbits sitting in wooden saunas outside at 30C+ while people moan about dogs with sore paws on pavements.
