It's Volunteers' Week ✨

A perfect time to say THANK YOU to all the wonderful volunteers who have supported the planning and smooth running of Biggar Little Festival over the years; from volunteer trustees, to programme distribution, front of house, box office and Biggar Day Out helpers...the list goes on! The Festival couldn't run without the kind generosity of the local community.

If you fancy being part of Biggar Little Festival this year, helping to create the best fest yet and can spare a couple hours of your time, please get in touch by emailing [email protected]. We'd love to have you on board!

The trustees and committee of Biggar Little Festival invite you to join us for this year’s Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Thursday 25th June 2026 at 7.00pm in the upstairs meeting room at the Gillespie Centre.

We greatly value your time and support, and we hope you will be able to attend.

The meeting will provide an update on our current financial position, a review of last year’s festival, and an overview of plans for Biggar Little Festival 2026. It’s also a valuable opportunity to ask questions, speak with the board of trustees, and share your ideas. As always, your input is greatly appreciated.

We’re always happy to hear from anyone interested in joining our team or volunteering for specific activities.

A fantastic afternoon was had by all at the Young Artists Awards on Wednesday! Huge well done to our worthy Winners and Special Merit award winners too - we hope you are proud of what you've achieved.

A big thank you to all the pupils who took part in this year's competition, to the schools and teachers and thank you to the Gillespie Centre for hosting such a fabulous event in a great space - the tasty catering went down a treat too!

Such a great community competition for our up and coming artists couldn't take place if it wasn't for the generous sponsorship from Ken Foulis of The Biggar Gallery, who printed and framed all the winning designs. A special mention must also go to Jennifer Turner for her hard work in organising it and providing the winners with prizes from Jennifer Turner Design Ltd.

We can't wait to see Luna's winning design on the front cover of the programme when its printed 🤩

⭐ We're delighted to announce the winners of the Biggar Little Festival Young Artist Competition ⭐

Huge congratulations to our cover artist and winner of the P6-7 category, Luna, age 11, from Tinto Primary. Luna's striking painting epitomised the theme, Starry Autumn Night and will look fabulous on this year's programme!

Well done to the P4-5 category winner, Jessica, age 9, from Biggar Primary. Jessica was last year's cover winner and she created this wonderful, original design also based on the Starry Autumn Night theme.

And well done also to Ella, age 7, from Black Mount primary, the winner of the P1-3 category. We loved her colourful, music themed design.

Lena, age 11 from Libberton Primary, receives the Special Illustration prize for her creative, mixed media artwork of Cadger's Brig.

We'd like to say a big thank you and well done to the 381 pupils who sent in their amazing designs, and to the teachers and schools who took part. It's been wonderful to see so much creativity and talent from our local schools.

The Young Artist competition is kindly sponsored by The Biggar Gallery.
Prizes donated by Jennifer Turner Design Ltd.
