Biggar Youth Project SCIO is looking for a volunteer Treasurer Trustee to join its Board.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with finance, bookkeeping, payroll, budgeting or accounting experience to help oversee the charity's financial health and support its work with young people across Biggar and surrounding rural communities.
Responsibilities include reviewing financial reports, budgets, forecasts, payroll oversight and supporting good governance. Previous trustee experience is not essential and training will be provided. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Desirable experience includes:

Experience using Xero Accounting Software to review financial records, produce reports and monitor budgets.
Bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Payroll oversight or administration.
Budget preparation and financial forecasting.
Preparation or review of management accounts.
Understanding of financial controls and governance.
Experience within the charity, public or private sector.

August/September Timetable Update

Please find attached our August/September timetable.

As we continue to focus on securing additional funding, sponsorships, and donations, our timetable has been temporarily adjusted. Despite these changes, we are working hard behind the scenes and are hopeful that we will be able to introduce Saturday openings in the near future.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support during this challenging period. Your encouragement and loyalty mean a great deal to us.

If you have some spare time and would like to volunteer, we would love to hear from you. Every helping hand makes a real difference.

In the meantime, one of the best ways you can support us is by visiting us as often as you can and spreading the word about what we do.

We will keep you updated and share any positive news as soon as possible.

📢 Important Summer Activity Update! 📢

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the Bowling Trip due to low numbers.

If your young person was booked onto the trip and this creates difficulties with existing parent/carer arrangements, please get in touch and we will do our best to help identify an alternative option.

🎉 The Wiston Lodge Trip is still going ahead! 12.15-4pm with bus leaving Biggar please be here for 12 noon. 🎉

There are still a couple of spaces available, and permission slips will be sent out to everyone attending tomorrow.

🌟 Good News! Two new free Events! 🌟

We have a small number of spaces available for young people to join us in meeting a group of European young people, alongside other young people from across Clydesdale. Both events include free food, new experiences, and lots of fun!

📅 Event 1: Wiston Lodge Culture Night

Date: 16 July 2026
Time: From 6.00pm (final timings to be confirmed)

Enjoy food, cultural activities, and short presentations as we get to know young people from different countries and backgrounds.

📅 Event 2: Welcome to Clydesdale Evening

Date: 17 July 2026
Time: 6.00pm – 10.00pm
Venue: St Nicholas Hall, Lanark

A fun evening of food, games, and activities with young people from across the area and our European visitors.

🚗 Sharon will be attending both events, and there may be opportunities for lifts depending on who is attending.
