The HCVA once again setting the record straight and thanks to Classic Car Weekly for picking up on this. Protecting automotive heritage through preservation of cherished occasional use vehicles, under exemptions from some regulations and taxes designed for daily transportation, is the only way to protect these vehicles. Historic vehicles remain an extremely rare sight in urban centres and ownership is not linked to ULEZ.

It’s a packed issue once more as classic experts respond to the suggestion that people are buying up classics to evade motoring restrictions in cities. We’ve been on the ground at Retro Rides as the popular event fills out Goodwood and there’s a round up of April’s auctions and a look at what your money can get you on the continent. Clarity on MoT exemptions for historic vehicles is now published following an intervention from the HCVA: Historic and Classic Vehicles Alliance. A 10 March GOV.UK update caused some confusion and has now been updated, particularly in relation to kit and reconstructed vehicles. The HCVA is always protecting the interests of the historic vehicles sector. View the update at
