A DfT consultation on in-use Emissions has alarmed many in the historic, classic and collectable vehicles world. Following engagement with DfT and DVSA, we wish to clarify that the proposed updating of Regulation 61A applies to post 2001 vehicles manufactured under Euro 2/3 regulations onwards and that the in-use emissions refer to the applicable Euro standard - NOT the manufacturers certified emissions for a particular make/model. It is deleting of emissions control systems or where systems are left in a faulty state that is the focus. The HCVA will be responding and updating members prior to the 06 Sep deadline.

Seeks views on proposals to strengthen the law around emissions from motor vehicles that are in-use on GB roads.

The HCVA welcomes the ambition outlined in the Beaulieu, National Motor Museum Trust’s announcement to secure a transformational new home for the National Motor Museum. As an affiliate of the National Motor Museum, the HCVA supports its vision to remain relevant and to use its collection to inspire future generations, including its aspirations to expand support for heritage skills apprenticeships.
Developing the skills needed to protect our motoring heritage for future generations is a shared vision with the HCVA and we look forward to following the Trust’s plans as this exciting next chapter develops.
