Amate Animalia is a rescue charity for exotic animals, from mammals & reptiles to invertebrates. We educate others about exotic animal welfare & husbandry and also rescue, rehabilitate & rehome many species. We also offer animal encounters to schools, carehomes, hospices & other business sectors in order to raise money for the rehabilitation of our rescued animals.

Hello Animal Lovers ☀️👋🏽🐾

We absolutely hate to ask for donations... But the truth is without support in the way of donations we are never going to cover all the veterinary costs for our rescues 😑😩😩

We take in rescues no questions asked, but with each new arrival, we've spent money on fuel, then all the testing for diseases of the new arrival (as standard) plus any veterinary treatment... That's all before costs for feed, substrates, electricity, up keep etc etc.

If everyone who asked us to collect a poorly animal made a small donation, it would help..but sadly this doesn't happen.

So we have to ask if anyone out there can help our cause? 🙏🏽🐾

We have several very expensive cases still not covered, and we really do need your help 🥺😑

The little porcupine in the photo for example has an outstanding bill of £582, we have an African pygmy female who came in with sadly dead babies inside her uterus... Her outstanding bill is £360, a giant asian water monitor with a broken leg has £648 outstanding... And many many more 😑😑

We've finally got permission to share this video...

This is Hector, he was kept chained to a wall his whole life on a farm and his owner said he 'did not notice any tumour!?' which is just absolutely wild to us....

How could you NOT notice that??

He was also absolutely covered in fleas and severely anaemic.

He's doing well now and we have removed that tumour! 💪🏽💪🏽❤️‍🩹🐾

20 years ago today, the world lost the most passionate wildlife conservationist...

Steve Irwin dedicated his life to wildlife conservation and education, along with the love of his life Terri.

He worked tirelessly to help educate the world about endangered species and founded the amazing Australia Zoo which his children now run along with his wife Terri.

So many of us grew up watching you and you inspired us to be better humans, to be kind and show kindness.

So many people who are now marine biologists, zoologists, conservationists went into that field because you inspired them and ignited a passion inside them.

It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years without this amazing soul on this earth... 😓😓

Especially when it seems like the world 🌎 needs him more than ever... 😓😓🫶🏽

We all miss you Steve and your passion and purpose lives on and we will make sure it never fades...

Beautiful George, our eldest male Sulcata suddenly got 'active' after the temperature dropped yesterday!! 😂😂🙄

We could all hear this noise from afar....

Then we realised... It's George! 😅😅🙈🙈

We absolutely hate to ask for donations, but we do urgently need support as we don't raise enough from our educational and therapy visits to cover the massive costs of the veterinary care, surgeries etc that our rescues need.

To give you an idea here are some of what we need to cover;

- £520 for the rescued Tegu outstanding
- £380 for an African pygmy hedgehog
- £462 for a female skunk who had pyometra
- £280 for the Yemen chameleon in the photo
- £322 for the leopard tortoise with dystocia
- £518 for the baby porcupines surgery
- £125 for the lorikeet outstanding

And there are many many more.... 😣😣😳😳😳
