Bewdley Festival - Every October since 1987 In addition we hold art exhibitions, workshops for schools and others, and events throughout the year.

Every October in our small, beautiful town on the River Severn, Bewdley Festival offers evening and daytime events for 10 days every October. The Festival is organised to appeal to as wide a range of tastes as possible with appearances by big names in the worlds of comedy, literature, drama, television and music of all kinds, and a mixture of talks on fascinating topics that never fail to amuse and educate.

The Carducci Quartet ended the Bewdley Festival of the Arts 2026 in fine style.
One of the finest string quartets in the country they entertained and enthralled a packed St Anne's Church.
Performing pieces from Haydn, Mendelssohn and Shostakovich, the entire audience was on its feet after a rousing finale.

We all enjoyed a night of exquisite music on Saturday evening as Liza Pulman and Gareth Williams brought us their Great American Songbook.
Gareth's virtuoso jazz piano and guitar playing blended perfectly with Liza's beautiful singing voice as they so fabulously bought to life the songs of Rogers & Hart, Fats Waller, Irving Berlin etc... and as for Harold Arlen's Somewhere Over The Rainbow -just wow!
A night that will live long in the memory of everyone who came along.

It felt like it was Emma Hamilton herself was on stage at the Bewdley Festival yesterday afternoon.

Lesley Smith had the audience enthralled with her unique ability to bring history to life.

Detailing the life of Emma, her early hardship and her rise towards being the most well known woman of her time. Finally, the love between her and Horatio Nelson and how after his death the British government and Nelson's family ignored his dying requests for Emma, she was barred from attending his state funeral and was left in financial ruin.

An entertaining afternoon - thank you Lesley ( and Emma ) 💕

A very heartfelt thanks to our neighbours West Midlands Safari Park and Severn Valley Railway for providing us with experts last week.

On Tuesday we had conservation specialist Katie from the park talking about projects both at home and abroad. Jim joined us yesterday with 20 years service under his belt, he talked about the challenges faced and overcome by the railway.

What a fair cop! Radio 4’s Alfie Moore was on patrol at Bewdley Festival on Friday night with an arresting display of his signature humour. Once sworn in as audience cops for the evening, the audience were found guilty of uncontrollable laughter as Alfie trialled 2 hilarious scripts for his upcoming 10th series. A brilliant night!

A packed audience thoroughly enjoyed hearing all about Adam Frost last night.

From his early years where he was very connected to his grandparents, to his love of being in the garden and how this love then helped craft a career in garden design and enable him to become one of Britain’s most popular garden experts.

He shared his garden expertise with the keen gardeners of Bewdley afterwards in a Q&A followed by a book signing supported by Wyre Forest Books

Big ideas, tough questions and plenty to think about!

Natalie Bennett and Adrian Goldberg left a thoughtful Bewdley Festival audience challenged and inspired yesterday.

Drawing from her books Green Thinking and Change Everything, her deep knowledge and fresh thinking sparked lively discussion about how we can build a fairer, greener future and the part we can all play.
