Féile an Phobail has responded to the concerns raised by many within the LGBTQ+ community and beyond, reaffirming its commitment to equality, inclusion and respect for trans people.

As a festival rooted in community, Féile has long championed those who have faced marginalisation and exclusion. This decision reflects those values and sends a clear message that trans people are valued members of our communities who deserve dignity, respect and equal treatment.

Thank you to everyone who raised their concerns thoughtfully, spoke up in solidarity and helped ensure that LGBTQ+ voices were heard. We look forward to celebrating a Féile that continues to reflect the principles of diversity, equality and community that are at its heart.

have organised an emergency anti-racist demonstration of solidarity this Saturday at 1pm at Belfast City hall. We are calling on everyone to be there. There is also an anti-racist solidarity demonstration organised by at GuildHall Square, 2pm.

Racist pogroms in our city last night have left communities terrified. This brand of collective punishment - targeting whole groups of people because of the actions of an individual - is racist and it must be challenged.

If you want to sponsor this event please get in touch directly. We want to send the biggest, loudest, most unified message that we will not tolerate race riots in our city.

We will miss Tina deeply. She was brave, selfless and fierce, with a huge kind heart and so much fun.

An absolute legend, Tina was an unwavering presence in our community, she was instrumental in shaping Belfast Pride and the InterPride Ireland movement from their earliest days. Tina was also a stalwart of Queerspace since our beginnings in 1998.

Tina leaves a lasting mark on countless lives, helping clear a path for others and building a more inclusive and hopeful future.

Her loss will be felt profoundly across our community, she leaves a legacy of bravery, kindness and unapologetic authenticity.

Her warmth, humour, strength and refusal to ever dim herself for anyone will remain an inspiration for generations of q***r people.
