🏍️ **800 MILES, FOUR RIDERS AND £2,212 FOR BLOOD BIKES SCOTLAND!** 🏍️

Widows Sons Solomon’s Guard are delighted to have presented a cheque for **£2,212 to Blood Bikes Scotland **, following our three-day charity ride around the north of Scotland in September.

Our four riders – Stewart Walls (President), Steve McKenzie (Vice President), Jim Gibson (Secretary) and Ian Linn (Road Captain) – travelled from Edinburgh up Scotland's west coast, through Fort William to Fortrose, then north via Tongue to John o' Groats, before returning south along the east coast.

That's around **800 miles over three days**, all for a brilliant cause!

Blood Bikes Scotland is our chosen charity for 2026, recognising the incredible work its volunteers do supporting the NHS and the fact that the charity relies on donations to keep operating.

👏 A massive thank you to the members of the public, Masonic Lodges, friends and supporters whose generosity made this possible.

For us, it's not just about riding motorcycles. It's about friendship, brotherhood and giving something back.

**Ride with purpose. Make a difference.**

Well done brethren

Nice ‘shout’ for a £250 Donation to Queensferry RNLI
In recognition of the invaluable service provided by RNLI volunteers, a two-man ‘crew’ from Lodge Kirkliston Maitland 482 called into the RNLI Station at South Queensferry and donated £250.

Our R.W.M. Bro. Peter Cox, who was accompanied by I.P.M. Bro. Stuart Donald said: “RNLI Volunteers are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, and we salute the work they do in saving lives at sea.

We are always looking to support local Good Causes, and Queensferry R.N.L.I. is a very worthy recipient.” Bro. Peter is pictured presenting to Lifeboat Operations Manager David Smart and volunteer crew member Jordan Martin, alongside several Queensferry crew members.

Lifeboat crew callouts are known as ‘shouts’, and in 2025 the crew aided 119 people and saved four lives.

Close to the Forth Rail Bridge and named the ‘Queensferry Lifeboat Station’, it was established in 1967, and the new station was built in 2012.

Pictured, from left to right, and completing the presentation trio are Petra Surplus (Volunteer helm), Bro. Stuart Donald I.P.M., Calum Calder (Volunteer helm), Jacob Sim (Volunteer helm), and Sarah Sim (Volunteer crew and press officer).

Such a great charity thoroughly deserving of everyone ms support

We are delighted to share our stats for August 2026 which show that we saved the NHS £39,329 in the month, an increase of 15% on the previous year.

Year to date, we have saved the NHS £318,864 up 24% on last year.

These financial savings are important but of course, what we do is not only about saving money for the NHS. During the month, we were also able to provide the NHS with a number of long distance deliveries of very urgent samples to hospitals in England by working with other blood bikes groups.

As always, huge thanks to all of our volunteers and supporters.

We meet all year round because brotherhood is not seasonal.
