All,

Following the e-mail this morning from Fiona, we just wanted to drop a quick message from the committee.

As a committee we met a lot over the last few weeks and looked at various options to keep Relay running but unfortunately we couldn’t make the event viable and deliver the best results for the charity that means so much to us all.

However, this doesn’t mean that the committee has called it quits and we currently looking to meet up in the coming weeks where we are hoping to produce an action plan to put on a different style event later in the summer where we can all come together and celebrate all the hard work you have put in over the years and also raise further funds for CRUK. So, if you have any suggestions on what you would like to see or would enjoy taking part in please let us know.

Once we have further news on this, I will ensure this is communicated to you all at the earliest opportunity.

Also, as Fiona has said if you would like to run your own virtual event or take part in another relay just let us know and we will support you.

We will all miss Relay but we are sure together we can still raise vital funds for CRUK.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone that has supported Relay by participating as a team, survivor, helper or committee member.

Sundays mean statistics …. Some would say these are staggering results but we can’t stop there …

Data collated and published by Cancer Research UK suggests..

🔵 45% of patients diagnosed with cancer have surgery to remove the tumor as part of their primary cancer treatment.

🟣 27% of patients have radiotherapy.

🔵 28% have chemotherapy.

Let’s all do our bit to fight Cancer, raise as much awareness and if possible, raise money to enable specialist teams to research a cure💜

CRUK supporters DEJA VU are on tour and this time are heading to Bathgate to share their music talent with you all.

An evening filled with talented musicians from all over the UK who come together raising money for Cancer Research💜💙
