Recently at 1️⃣3️⃣3️⃣3️⃣ (Grangemouth Spitfire) Squadron, 6 of our cadets had the opportunity to do a powered flight at Leuchars Station🛩️

A massive thankyou to all at 12 AEF for this thrilling experience, our cadets loved their flights!

We try to go flying as much as possible - because it provides our cadets with so many skills. These include communication 📡, coordination 🧭, navigation 🗺️, and just a bit of fun! 🤪

Cadets had the opportunity to take control of the aircraft, complete aerobatics 🛢️🪽and experience the scenery of St Andrews and other local areas📍🌤️

All 6 cadets have now set off on their journey of achieving Blue Wings 🦋, and we look forward to this achievement 🎉

On the 11th & 12th of October, our cadets from 1️⃣3️⃣3️⃣3️⃣ (Grangemouth Spitfire) SQN took part in the Bronze National Navigation Weekend🗺️. Gaining useful map and compass knowledge 🧠, valuable SCQF points, and an amazing time!🥳

During the weekend cadets navigated🧭 their way through Devilla Forest 🌳 where they completed a circular route before a nights camping🏕️at Barrwood scout camp. Throughout the second day☀️ cadets navigated their way through another circular route ⭕️ from the Falkirk Wheel 🔧through the Antonine Wall and back to the Falkirk Wheel following the John Muir Way🗾!

During camping cadets and CFAV socialised with one another🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒, enjoyed, some camp craft🌳, built their tents⛺️, set up camp 🏞️ and demonstrated teamwork skills throughout 👥. All were fan favourites for the cadets!😊

Navigating successfully and gaining such knowledge, all 6 cadets achieved their Bronze National Navigation Award - huge congratulations🏅🎉

A massive and special thank you to WO McLean of 1777 (Dumbarton) and FS Hurst who lead this group of cadets through this award! 🤗

At 1333 (Grangemouth Spitfire) Squadron, leadership is a huge part of our syllabus and is a vital skill used by our NCO, Cadets and CFAV team throughout every aspect of a parade night and including weekend events. 📝🪢

On squadron, cadets have the opportunity to focus on the basics of leadership training and pursue the blue leadership 💙syllabus, in preparation for the bronze, silver and gold syllabus🏆.

Every NCO at 1333 has the opportunity to lead their individual teams whether that is aviation training 🛩️ to sports ⚽️, road marching 🥾to Media 📸, it doesn’t stop 🛑 there! This enhances their own ability to demonstrate leading a team successfully 🌟👏🏽 and encourages their fellow cadets to take leadership opportunities throughout their RAFAC career. 👥

Congratulations to all who have already achieved any level of leadership at 1333 and we look forward to seeing your leadership in action 🎉🎬.

This week at 1333 (Grangemouth Spitfire) Squadron, our cadets and CFAV have been busy working together to improve their uniform standards and communication skills. 📡🎙️

On Tuesday evening, our Byron Flight cadets took part in a getting to know the ranks lesson and kahoot quiz, whilst others were getting issued their RAFAC uniform 👔👞. All cadets participated in uniform care and kit preparation.

On Wednesday evening, all 5 flights; Byron Flight, Troodos, Ascension, Stanley and Gibraltar came together and participated in exercise Cache 🇨🇾🇰🇾🇫🇰🇬🇮!

This gave all cadets the opportunity to network and demonstrate teamwork whilst learning about radio procedures and putting them into practice. Excercise Cache kept all cadets engaged and the winning team unscrambled the code to find the main word, TRAILBLAZER 🚀🌟

To round up the week, Sgt Differ was awarded their blue music badge 🎶👏🏽 and Cdt Spence was awarded their blue leadership badge 🪢👏🏽. Congratulations Sgt Differ and Cdt Spence 🌟!

At 1333 (Grangemouth Spitfire) Squadron, we recently had the then Sgt Anna Wright complete her final MOI assessment 🧸and was then awarded the yellow Method of Instruction lanyard 🟡 after completing an MOI theory course and delivering 3 successful lessons to her peers, congratulations to the now FS Anna Wright on her very well deserved lanyard! 👩‍🏫 FS Wrights’ dedication and professionalism shone through!

Both the initial presentation skills course and the Method of Instruction course, allows cadets to develop their knowledge and understanding 🧠 💭 of preparing and delivering lessons and presentations on different subject matters in front of a variety of audiences. It develops confidence and gives presenters the ability to deliver lessons successfully 🌟.

Congratulations again FS! 🎉👏🏽

On Saturday the 20th of September 2025, 1333 (Grangemouth Spitfire) Squadron held our 85th Anniversary Battle of Britain memorial squadron dinner. ⭐️🍴

This special occasion brought together cadets, parents & guardians, CFAV, distinguished and invited guests from all over for an absolutely unforgettable evening.🎖️

The dinner featured:

* An amazing 3 course meal served by the Grangemouth Inchyra 🍽️
* Several presentations of awards, promotions and commendations to our hardworking cadets and Adult Volunteers 🏅
* 5 personal Pilot speeches written and presented on the night by our cadets which were inspiring and informative about what happened to each pilot during the Battle of Britain and, how they heroically died during battle ✈️
* A presentation on a key squadron linked to the Battle of Britain - 303 Squadron 🎞️
* Silent Auction by our Civilian Committee🎤
* Battle of Britain themed music by band and piper 🥁🎻
* And so many more 🥁🎺🪉

Guests also had the opportunity to enjoy the silent auction hosted by our hardworking civilian committee which was to help raise funds towards our squadron and to help support the opportunities we can give to our cadets with classroom learning items. 💰📚

The evening was a wonderful night for everyone who attended and it helped bring our community closer together and showed our pride of our squadron and being apart of the Grangemouth Community. During the preparation for our dinner it also helped cadets learn about the history and importance of their local area in Grangemouth during the Battle of Britain and appreciate the sacrifices made by so many. 👥
