UPDATE
Thanks for all the offers below, this girl now has a new flock

🐓 Lone chicken looking for new home 🏠

After much consideration, we’ve decided it’s time to rehome our lone chicken, Phoebe.

She was adopted through FSFH nearly 4 years ago with 2 other chickens who sadly are no longer around. Amazingly she’s still laying eggs daily, but we just don’t have the time to give her the life she deserves as we have a 3 year old and twin babies!

If anyone would be interested in rehoming her please let me know - we’re based in Reading (postcode RG10).

Homecheck will be required.

Thanks
Please contact Sophie in comments

Our volunteers worked their socks off today, a very hot sticky humid day with a LOT of running around catching these flighty birds!

If you collected from us today please post update photos below, we’d love to see how these girls are getting on.

Small rehome yesterday of just 30 hens, but we did get to meet the lovely Dr Scott Miller from “Vet on the Hill” who rehomed a few hens.

The hens were a bit scruffy after coming out of lockdown but they will soon feather up and transform into fluffy happy hens!

We had a one-eyed girl, probably an old peck injury which was totally healed, and she went home with one of our lovely volunteers along with a few others for company.

Thanks as always to our wonderful volunteers, drivers, farm team and admin team, plus of course our rehomers… we couldn’t do this without you!

A few photos of the day.
(Permission received to use images of the children).
