Basingstoke Fresh Start For Hens

Small rehome yesterday of just 30 hens, but we did get to meet the lovely Dr Scott Miller from “Vet on the Hill” who rehomed a few hens.

The hens were a bit scruffy after coming out of lockdown but they will soon feather up and transform into fluffy happy hens!

We had a one-eyed girl, probably an old peck injury which was totally healed, and she went home with one of our lovely volunteers along with a few others for company.

Thanks as always to our wonderful volunteers, drivers, farm team and admin team, plus of course our rehomers… we couldn’t do this without you!

Thank you everyone who offered help. Pleased to report new home has been offered, (pending collection on Sunday 22nd.)

URGENT HOME NEEDED!

Light Sussex trio, 1 cockerel and 2 hens urgently need a new home before Monday! Council putting pressure and time limit on current owner.

All about a year old, hens laying, currently located Andover but owner may be able to help with transport.

Homecheck will be required to ensure safety of these birds. Please comment below and owner will contact you.

Very cold rehoming day today, but 55 rather scruffy hens are tonight tucked up in their new coops. Some TLC will see these hens transformed in a couple of months!

We’d love to see photos of your hens settling in, and of course the before/after photos in a few months!
There are some gorgeous pin feathers on show in these photos 😍

We’ve been asked to help rehome this lovely trio. Must stay together. Owner cannot care for them due to health issues.

Black pekin hen 5 years old
Cream legbar hen 5 years old
Frizzle pekin cockerel 4 years old
They have a bit of scaly leg . Been treated a lot but it never seems to go on the pekins .
They aren’t laying at the moment but they both laid well last year.

Currently in Bramley RG26

Looking for forever homes for 2 lovely cockerels. Both hatched Spring 2025 so almost a year old. Good temperament and lovely manner with their ladies.
Current owner needs to rehome due to neighbours complaining.

Back in September we did a huge rehome of 117 hens, most were fully feathered chunky healthy hens. Occasionally we find one or two needing tlc, and our volunteer mum/daughter duo Meg and Flo pulled out these two little girls and took them home.
Needless to say these hens are being spoilt rotten and you wouldn't recognise them from 8 weeks ago! Thank you Meg and Flo ❤🐔
