🇨🇭 Greetings from Switzerland! 🇨🇭

Our adventure to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) is well underway!

After an epic 20-hour coach journey, our group arrived safely and were greeted by the incredible mountain scenery that surrounds KISC. Everyone was excited to finally reach camp and begin our international adventure.

Since arriving, we’ve packed plenty into the first few days. We hiked down to the stunning Oeschinensee, took the gondola high into the mountains, enjoyed the mountain coaster, cooled off with a swim in the beautiful alpine lake, and then walked back via the local village to pick up supplies before returning to camp.

We’ve also visited the breathtaking Blausee Nature Reserve, famous for its crystal-clear turquoise lake, before making our way back to camp by bus.

Today we’re heading to Frutigen by bus for a day of high ropes and mini golf.

We’ll be sharing more photos and updates throughout the week, so keep an eye on our page as the adventure continues!

We've been asked once again to help support the Basingstoke Half Marathon taking place on Sunday 4th October 2026. We'll be manning two water stations throughout the race, and we're looking for a mixture of adults and young people (Scouts, Explorers and Young Leaders) to help.

Please sign-up, and share the link with your young people too.

We'll assign teams as we get closer to the event, and confirm the final timings but we expect it to run from approximately 09:00 to 15:00.

We’re Recruiting: District Treasurer & Trustees! 🛡️

Basingstoke East Scouts are looking for strategic-minded volunteers to join our District Trustee Board. We have a pressing vacancy for a District Treasurer and are also opening up our wider Trustee roles for the upcoming term.

What do Trustees do? They act collectively to ensure the District is run safely and in the best interests of our members. It’s a 'behind-the-scenes' role focused on governance, not knots and tents!

As part of our Open Selection process, we are inviting applications for all board positions, including those currently held by trustees reaching the end of their term.
