We’re Recruiting: District Treasurer & Trustees! 🛡️

Basingstoke East Scouts are looking for strategic-minded volunteers to join our District Trustee Board. We have a pressing vacancy for a District Treasurer and are also opening up our wider Trustee roles for the upcoming term.

What do Trustees do? They act collectively to ensure the District is run safely and in the best interests of our members. It’s a 'behind-the-scenes' role focused on governance, not knots and tents!

As part of our Open Selection process, we are inviting applications for all board positions, including those currently held by trustees reaching the end of their term.

This weekend, we brought together everyone heading on our KANDER26 adventure.

Scouts and Explorers from Basingstoke East joined forces with Network members from across Basingstoke to kick off what will be an unforgettable journey to the Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in Switzerland.

Set high in the stunning Swiss Alps, KISC is a global hub for Scouts, welcoming thousands each year for adventure, friendship, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

We can’t wait for 23rd July when this incredible journey truly begins 🇨🇭

This evening is our launch event, with volunteer registartion opening today and partcipant bookings tomorrow!

This will be a chance to:
• Meet the BEASTLY team
• Learn what the event day will look like
• Discover volunteer roles
• First look at BEASTLY 26 merch + pre-orders
• Informal Q&A over refreshments

Drop off your empty plastic confectionery and cracker tubs at Basingstoke Scout Shop and help support Macmillan Cancer Support 💚

All tubs are recycled and the money raised goes directly to Macmillan - turning plastic waste into real support.

Basingstoke Scout Shop re-opens on Thursday 8th January from 18:00 to 20:00, and Saturday 10th January from 10:00 to 13:00.

Today, young people and volunteers from across Basingstoke East joined their local communities in parades of remembrance.

They proudly represented Scouting as they honoured those who have served and sacrificed, marching alongside veterans, community groups, and residents in two separate remembrance events.

Thank you to all the young people, volunteers, and families who took part - your respect, teamwork, and pride truly reflect the values of Scouting.

🌍 We’re off on an international adventure! 🇨🇭

Next year, from 23rd July to 1st August 2026, we’re taking Scouts and Explorers from across Basingstoke to Kandersteg International Scout Centre (KISC) in Switzerland! 🏔️

Nestled in the breathtaking Swiss Alps at 1,200 metres above sea level, KISC is a truly unique place - a global hub where Scouts from all over the world come together for adventure, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.

We’ve still got a few spaces left and we’d love to make sure everyone who wants to come along, can!

Celebrating Our Local Air Scouts! ✈️

We’re so proud to have Basingstoke Air Scout Group as one of the groups in our District. Recently, they hosted their first-ever Family Fun Day, bringing together young people, families, and the community for a day of fun, smiles, and togetherness.

From games to activities to simply enjoying each other’s company, it was a wonderful reminder of how important community is — and how much delight there is in getting together, outside.

A huge congratulations to everyone who organised and took part - you made it a day to remember.

The event, held on October 5, 2025, saw families enjoying a variety of activities, including biscuit decorating, bracelet-making, and tomahawk…

It’s been a busy weekend for Scouting in Basingstoke East, with Scouts and Cubs at Chessington World of Adventures Resort yesterday and today we’ve got some Scout troops out supporting the Basingstoke Half Marathon.
