Thank you to Cllr. Pete Wray UUP and Cllr Katherine Newman for bringing this motion forward to Ards and North Down Borough Council. We need more resources for provision to support women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse.

Council says Stormont programme is primarily resourced to support prevention activity, rather than provision of services for women

YOUR VOICE MATTERS !

QUB are seeking participants for their research into the lived experiences of women whose male partner or ex-partner engaged in a Domestic Abuse Intervention Programme in NI, whilst you engaged with Women's Aid.

This is a great opportunity for women to have their voices heard, to:
- Understand how this has affected wellbeing and family life
- Explore what has been helpful, what has been challenging, and what could
be improved.
- Use this knowledge to shape better support and services for families in NI.

You can contact Lucy on 02838397971 or Tina on 028 30449756 and they will make contact with the researcher with your consent

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 🌍

Every year, Women’s Aid support hundreds of older women who have experienced abuse for many years, even decades.

In 2024/2025 alone, we supported hundreds of women over the age of 65 right across NI.

Domestic abuse doesn’t have an age limit, and it’s never okay.

For info on support, please phone our Bangor Centre on 028 9127 3196.
