We were delighted to welcome Mr McVeigh, Miss Turley, and the children from St Joseph's Primary School to the second day of our Create and Connect programme, funded by PeacePlus.
The children enjoyed learning how to play Boccia with our Forever Young group, under the guidance of Brendan. It was wonderful to see the young and the young at heart come together, building connections and friendships through sport and shared experiences.

Everyone enjoyed chatting over snacks, although a healthy sense of competition was certainly present throughout the games!

After the children returned to school, the Forever Young group stayed behind for refreshments and reflected on the promising young talent within the local area. It was another fantastic day of intergenerational learning, fun, and connection.
We look forward to continuing the programme on Friday 19th with a morning of flower arranging. As always, there will be plenty of opportunities for conversation, friendship, and connection over some tasty nibbles and a cup of tea. Everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy a relaxed and enjoyable morning together. PM this page if you haven't already secured your place.

We were delighted to launch the Ballykinlar Create and Connect Programme on Sunday funded by Peaceplus.

Everyone enjoyed a wonderful picnic at Sinatra Sunday in Montalto Estate. After a fantastic performance by Finbarr Keaveney, the weather stayed on our side, giving everyone the chance to explore the beautiful gardens and trails, with many also taking the opportunity to visit the shop.

Our next meeting will take place on Friday, when we look forward to welcoming the children from St Joseph's Primary School, Tyrella. They will be joining us for a game or two of Boccia, and we're excited to spend time together and continue building connections across our community.

Our Create & Connect programme starts tomorrow with the first session being a picnic in Montalto Estate listening to Finbarr Keaveney.

If anyone else wishes to attend please let us know ASAP and we’ll add your name to the list.

For full details of the programme see below our schedule of events:

Community Create & Connect Opening Event: This Sunday at 11:30am we will be visiting Montalto Estate. Finbar Keaveney will be performing from 12:00–2:00pm, a picnic lunch will be provided, and there will be free time afterwards to explore the gardens and grounds.

Followed by weekly Friday Workshops in Ballykinlar GAC (10:00am–12:00pm)

12th June – Boccia with the school

19th June – Flower Arranging

3rd July – Health & Wellbeing

10th July – Felt Art

Scones and / or a light lunch will be provided at each session.

There will also be a bus trip around the Mournes as part of the programme.

Everything is completely free of charge. Funded by Peaceplus

We are delighted to host this programme, made possible through funding from PeacePlus.

The programme will commence on Sunday 7th June with a picnic in the park and will be followed by a series of engaging workshops and activities, including health and wellbeing, floral arranging, felt art, intergenerational sports, and an excursion.

Ballykinlar GAC is delighted to have secured funding through the Rural Micro Capital Grants Scheme which, with support from CDRCN, has enabled the purchase of a new set of Boccia balls for the seniors in our village.

Last week we hosted the first of what we hope will be many Boccia tournaments, with the Ballykinlar ladies emerging victorious on the day.

A sincere thank you to our guests from Kilcoo and Castlewellan for joining us. It was a fantastic morning enjoyed by all, rounded off with refreshments kindly provided by CDRCN.

Huge thanks to everyone who got up early this morning to join us for our sunrise walk 🌅. As always, this was a wonderful way for the community to come together for such a great cause - and a freshly cooked fry in the club rooms afterwards 🍳.

We were delighted to be joined by so many from LCCL & Pop Up Art - who do such unbelievable work helping those affected by mental health and addiction locally. We are very proud that all our donations from today will go such a worthy cause.
